I've seen threads like this before, just wondering. I have been on a diet for 2 months, and will get off of it for our Vacation. I'm not going to go crazy, but I will get a dessert and maybe a real Coke or 2 :goodvibes

Just wondering how much people gain. No matter how much walking or swimming I have NEVER lost weight at Disney!

I usually come home about 2-3 pounds heavier even with all the walking. Not really too big of a deal considering the fact I eat like a piggy the entire trip. popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

None. I always lose weight even though I'm on the DDP and eat everything! My last trip I actually lost 7 pounds! I have a killer metabolism, though, and combined with all the extra walking, I lose easily.

I never gain weight at WDW and we go many times a year. We share snacks and lunchs, we sub grapes and carrots for fries, we only drink water and maybe ice tea with dinner, and if we do CS for breakfast we order kids meals, we always have a salad and get fruit from the snack carts.

Now we do love the "bad" foods too but since we order one (like an egg roll, pop corn, cookie or rice krispie treat) and share it I think that helps alot.

Our stay at WDW is 10 days and we eat lots of food. Pretty much anything we want. None of us come back home with extra weight 'cause we always walk it off.

We eat whatever we want when we're vacationing at WDW, but we walk so much that I always lose around 3-4 lbs.

Cheers!

Basically the same as what most people are saying, zip, nada, none. Even with the dining plan I came back on my last trip no heavier than I was when I left, since after you eat you tend to walk several miles before your next meal :thumbsup2

I've always lost weight at Disney, even though I throw away all conscious thought about eating right and even on the dining plan. Between the walking and the fact that I don't want soda in the heat, I come home a couple lbs lighter.

I always gain some weight but that is because I usually eat very healthy and also workout 5 times per week at the gym. I am already so active that walking around disney is not a workout for me. I am also used to standing all day since I teach pre-k. I would think though if people do not normally eat very healthy or do not exercise very much they would probably break even or even loose weight.

I eat what I want but usually only eat a few bites of dessert and stick to mostly water and wine of course. I always loose the weight pretty quickly after I return home.

I lost about 12 pounds last year before going and didn't gain an ounce while there, and I ate large. I weighed about 260 after the 12 # loss. I gained that and more back after getting home because I got out of the diet habit. I'm losing 20 this year(already lost 8), so maybe that will help.

maybe a couple of pounds (with all the eating on the DDP and grazing during the F&W) - but once home (and eating "normal/healthy" again) it won't matter - whatever i gain will go away quickly

I have been to Disney twice for 3 weeks each time and gain 10-12lbs per trip and thats not on the DDP.

We are going for 2 weeks this year on the DDP so who knows how much weight I will gain!

The last two times I have gone, we have used the DDP. I didn't gain anything at all. We usually only eat the two meals and with a snack in there somewhere. And with all the walking, we just don't gain anything.

Now, getting back on my diet after coming back from Disney is a whole other story! :lmao:

Last year I wore a pedometer just out of curiosity. We stayed at the BWI and walked to MGM and Epcot. One day we walked 17 miles. Most other days we averaged 10-12 miles. We don't eat large at every meal, drink lots of water and have a nice dinner with dessert, and of course a mickey ice cream bar--or two. I actually went home 2 lbs lighter.
Don't worry about it. Go have fun and enjoy!

I lose a few lbs. on our trips. This time we're trying the DDP but I'm planning to eat a bite or 2 at lunch and save my calories for dinner. On most trips,I only eat 1 meal.

I drink lots of water, about 3 gallons a day. At WDW, I can't drink that much because I can't drink that sulfur swamp water and I can't afford that much bottle water at the parks. SO I really only lose water weight, but not inches.

I am currently on Weight Watchers. In Feb, we were at WDW on the Dining Plan for 10 days. I left the Weight Watchers at home and ate everything I wanted. I had app., entrees and desserts. I didn't gain a pound. I did take my pedometer and we averaged about 10 miles per day. We are going again in Feb (for just 4 days) and I am leaving the Weight Watchers home again.

Last Christmas, I gained 7 pounds on the dining plan during our week-long stay. The weight melted off about a week or so after my return, so I suspect that the majority of the weight gain was water weight. DH and I ate and drank like royalty, so the quick weight gain did not surprise me (I am slim, but my weight frequently fluctuates five pounds up or down the scale.) IMHO, a little weight gain is the souvenier of a great vacation!

After 10 days worth of the DDP I was up about 3 lbs. DH was up about 5 lbs. No worries...its a vacation isn't it??!!:confused3

Thanks for all the replies.

I've lost 19lbs as of today, and I plan on having a fun time and not worry about sugar etc...Been on a low carb diet, and I told my husband I don't think I will eat 1 steak or piece of chicken while at WDW. Its Tuna Sandwiches at the CHH, Pasta at Mamma Melroses, and that chocolate dessert at the Kona for me. Keep the meat :)

I'm pretty sure I can jump back on the diet when I get home, it will be hard, but thats the plan. I have read where people lose weight, etc..Its just never happend for me, and its not Like I go crazy. We usually eat only 2 meals per day. 1 CS and 1 Table service, its breakfast that usually gets left out. Maybe we shouldn't spend so much time at the resort, in a chair drinking Lapu Lapus most the day:rotfl: and get back in the parks and walk it off:lmao:

Second thought....the Lapu Lapus win. :rotfl2:
