I am planning a grand gatherings and i have some family memebers with knee issues and cant do steps alot. What are the chances of them getting a bottom floor or should we try wl because of elevators.
:confused3

Most of the mods have elevators, the CBR doesn't.

I would let Disney know that some of the members of the party can't walk easily. POF is a great place because it's so compact.

only part of PO has elevators. the Mansions do, the AB don't.

not sure about POFQ.

I would go with Pop - it is small, very well organized. the only problem is breakfast far too many people in a limited space want to get breakfast before they leave.

all the buildings at Pop have elevators. It is also flat so makes getting around in a wheelchair or ECV much easier.

at WL it depends upon where you are - the standard rooms have best access to the restuarants, but not to the boats or food court.

POFQ is small and there is not much walking. try to request a room on the bottom floor, but i believe there are elevators in most of the buildings

I think Pop is always a good choice too (my favorite value). I am pretty certain though that only CBR is totally void of elevators as far as the mods.

But the Pop is fun and first choice for a value. POF would be my first choice for a mod.

Also, Disney takes requests based on need fairly seriously. Not guaranteed unless you got a handicapped accessible room. But I'd make sure it was noted!

Well that is good to know i did not think that any mods had elevators. thanks so much this info will help alot when we have our planning party july 1st. Getting back excitied:cool1:

If walking is an issued, then definitely do not choose Caribbean Beach Resort. There are no elevators and most buildings are far from the main pool and food court! You can make requests on which building or floor you want to stay, however, there are no guarantees on them being honored.

Have a great trip!

If a bldg has three or more floors, it will have an elevator. POR-AB has only two floors, so no elevators.
I would just make the request for ground floor rooms when you book. Let them know you have folks who will have an issue with stairs, or long distances.

We stayed at POR Alligator Bayou. We had a first floor room and it was great. It was also close to the pool and restaurants. I did see families struggling with strollers getting up to the second floor. They didn't know about the no elevator thing and were not very happy.

I'm pretty sure all the buildings at CSR have elevators, and you can usually catch a golf cart to El Centro from any part of the resort. Try requesting a ground floor unit and stress why you need it. Most of our "stressed requests" get honored (allergies, handicap, etc.)

POFQ is the smallest of the moderate resorts. They do have elevators and it is very compact. No more than a 5 minute walk from end to end. When you go through Grand Gathering tell them of the health issues and ask for a front building, (we always like building 3). They do not have a Table Service restaurant, but the food court is very good. They do share a bus with POriverside, but FQ is first on and first off. Here is a map
