We will be staying at the All Star Sports hotel the first week of Aug. I was just wondering how much to tip the maids? We have two rooms and will be there 7 nights. I found and downloaded the maid envelopes, they are so cute.

Thanks for your help!! We can not wait to leave.

Same here $1 day per person.

I just wanted to add that the housekeeping department at ASSPorts was probably the friendliest and nicest we've had. Last Jan 2003 was the 1st time we stayed at a value resort and were surprised to find the CM's went over and beyond any service we have had at a mod or deluxe resort. We asked for extra towels b/c we went to the pool, we got a huge stack. I asked the CM that cleaned our room for bar soap since my DS didn't understand how to use body wash, she gave me a stack of soaps each day we were there. They always made a point to talk to my son no matter what time of the day.

We also tip $1/day/person at any of the resorts. I might leave a little more if I felt we left the room extra messy but we pick-up after ourselves pretty well so it is often not needed.

We also have 2 rooms at the all-stars in August. Our rooms are connecting and there are 5 of us 2adults and 3 children. I was going to leave $6 a day. Does the same maid clean both rooms when there are connecting rooms? It would be easier to leave a $5 and a $1 instead of 6 ones (3 in each).

Thanks

Same $1.00 per person per day! Do you have the link for the Mousekeeping Envelopes? I can not remember where I got them the last time.

I know that $1 day per person is the norm, but was wondering if I could leave $6 in one envelope to cover both rooms or should I leave $3 in each room.

I do not know how to get the envelopes and would love to know

Thanks

I usually tip 2 bucks a day unless some special effort is made to get our attention (stuffed toys in the window, etc.) - then I up it a little bit.

more than likely the same maid will clean both rooms but to be on the safe side leave an envelope in each room. Go to the bank and get a bunch of ones before leaving and make up each before leaving home.

I generally tip $3 a day (two persons in the room) everyday except the last, when I leave $5-$6 (or more, if something really exceptional was done).

When we had connecting rooms in 2000 it was the same maid for both rooms. With the door open, it would only make sense to me, but that's just my opinion. We left the tip in one room.

I was tipping $5 a day, but I wasn't impressed with the service. It seemed the only thing the maid did was take the dirty towels and give us clean towels and a new bar of soap! And I was sooo disappointed that we didn't have any of those little special touches everyone talked so much about :( . We stayed 8 nights and the last 3 I didn't leave anything cuz I felt she wasn't even doing her full job.

Also tip $5 a day for the four of us.

Had connecting rooms, same maid for each, left the tip in one room (left $6 here, brother in other room). She was awesome - friendly, helpful, gave us tons of the shampoos, etc. and always extra towels.
