How Much to make Ice Cream ??????

Sorry I can not quantify spending $999 for an ice cream maker. I can always walk to one of the 3 ice cream stands within 10 minutes of my house. Or even order from Schwans Sales.

I can see a resturant paying that, but not for personal use. Say that to my sister though, she paid big bucks for a soy milk maker last year.

You know we have several of those small appliances that seemed like a good idea at the time...pasta maker (haven't used it in about 5 years), bread maker (same as pasta maker), rottisserie cooker(same as pasta and bread maker), iced tea maker(haven't used it in 2 or 3 years)...you get the idea.

$999 for an ice cream maker!!!!!!!!!!! I'd go to an ice cream parlor.

That is a LOT of ice cream, even at Schwan's prices! You can buy an ice cream maker for under $50 at any store like Target, etc.

My ice cream maker was under $50 and I use it all of the time in the summer

Boy, you're singin' my song. I've had an ice cream attachment for my Oster kitchen center for over 25 years and used it for the FIRST time a coupla months ago. Since it's still a novelty, we've been making ice cream every week. OT, but here's a great recipe:

Six Threes (makes 2 quarts)

3 cups sugar
3 cups milk
3 cups cream
3 mashed bananas
3 oranges, juiced
3 lemons, juiced

Whisk sugar & cream in large bowl until sugar is dissolved. Add milk, juices & banana (I run the bananas and juice in the blender) and freeze as directed by your ice cream maker.
