Our plane lands at 2:30pm. We are staying at Movies resort. I was wondering if how feasible it would be to make it to a 5:15pm reservation at Spirit of Aloha??

You could do it if you did on-line check in and did not change clothes. I would go for the 8pm show.

You would need your flight to be on time - a variable you have no control over. Are you taking DME to the resort? The average transit time is stated to be 70 - 90 minutes from deplaning to your resort. Then you would need to check in at your resort.
Would you be taking Disney transportation from the Movies to the Poly? This can take an hour or longer. You would have to go to DTD or a park and transfer to a Poly bus. Alternatively you could go to the MK and take the Monorail or a Ferry to the Poly. Waiting for the bus, riding to your destination, waiting for the bus, monorail or ferry, riding all take time. Disney advises 90 minutes travel time resort to resort. I would advise budgeting for a taxi and taking that to the Poly. It will drastically reduce your travel time.
Since the Luau is one that you pre pay for, I personally would not plan it that close.
Good Luck

All depends if your plane is there on time. If it is, you probably will get done by 4pm at your resort and you need to allow at least 20-30 minutes by bus to get to the Polynesian. It will be close, probably the later show would be better!!Was just there last month and we really liked the show. We did Hoop Dee Doo in 2009 and last month Spirit of Aloha.

We're having the same problem. I usually book early flights, but since we're getting married the day before, I'm not dragging this booty out of bed that early, so we're playing it safe and just booking the 8pm show. Luckily we're staying at Poly so we don't have to worry much about the travel time to get to Poly, unless we get there early and decided to go to DTD for a few hours.

Book the 8pm show - you don't need that unnecessary stress. There are too many variables that could go wrong :headache:
