With talk of the parks not being kept up and lack of discounts on tickets, I'm curious to know what percentage of your DVC vacation do you spend inside Disney parks? Please remember to include Disney water parks as well.

Thanks!

I voted 26-50%. We visit often and don't like the commando style of park touring. We prefer a much more relaxing visit. We head out for the parks, stay until about lunch time and then head back to the resort. Also, we almost always build in a "resort only" day. On those days we usually sleep late, and then grab a spot by the pool. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy the parks, but there's more to Disney than just parks.

I voted 76% to 99%. About the only time we actually spend outside of WDW property is a half day at the outlets. On the other hand, we don't spend as much time in the parks as before DVC, more time inside the room and relaxing, so I'm not sure if that was supposed to be factored into the response. We don't do all day marathons anymore, leaving the room in the morning and not returning until evening, we always take an afternoon break. We almost always visit at least one park each day.

Since we go on an average of 2x's a year and have annual passes, we sort of go on whims. If the mood strikes, we go, if it does not, we don't. Sort of what vacation is about.

I go about 4 - 5 times a year, so with my AP I have no need to go commando style through the parks. I am heading down next weekend and I doubt we will spend much time in the parks, other than e-ticket night next Friday night. I voted 26 - 50%.

I voted 25-50%, because although I go to a park almost every single day I am at WDW, many times is will be just for a few hours in the evening to eat at a WS restaurant and then watch Illuminations or have dinner at Brown Derby and then catch a ride on RNR and watch Fantasmic.
It is very, very rare for me to stay in a park longer than 4 hours at a time. I do the early morning park stint and then it's back to the resort to hang out at the pool, rent a boat etc and then back to a park in the evening for dinner and the nighttime entertainment. I enjoy eating at quite a few of the park's restaurants (especially WS and MGM restaurants) and since I have an AP it is no big deal to just go to a park for a couple hours and have a meal. I also take an occasional day here and there when I sleep in and then hang out at the resort all day and then go to DTD for dinner and a night at PI, but PI is technically another form of a Disney park/entertainment venue, so I still consider that as going to a park that day.

I voted for 0-25% because we go 3X a year, and haven't missed a year since 1974, so we've already seen it all several times. That's the beauty of DVC and annual passports--you can always do it next time!:p

I voted every single day since we are newcomers to WDW and have AP's so if we only go for 1/2 day to a park or even a couple of hours it is ok for us

Thanks

Just a guess:
0 - 25% Long-time AP passholders
26 - 50% AP passholders
51%-75% 4/5 day Park Hoppers passholders
76 - 99% Length-of-stay passholders
100% 1st-timers

I voted 51-75. I was going to vote for the lesser option, but when I factored in Pleasure Island, it nudged me into this bracket.

PS- One of our favorite activities is to resort hop for dinner, then my wife shops (I find the bar and have a beer....it's sort of an agreement we have). :teeth:

Just a guess:

0 - 25% Long-time AP passholders.....
Nope, I do not fit the criteria. I go to WDW 3-4 xs per year and have done so for years and always have an AP and I fit the 26-50% category. I think when you figure PI, Disney Quest and the water parks into the equation under 26% is pretty low.

I stand corrected . . . it looks like there are very few that fit into that category at all. Figuring an average daily 10-hour availability, 2 1/2 hours or less is very short time.

We have been members at OKW since '97 and we usually take 10+ day trips. We do still go into a park every day. Sometimes it might only be for dinner, but we find our whole vacation does revolve around the Disney experience.

We have been DVC members since 1993 and AP but still go to the parks, water parks, DTD together everyday of our trip. We always do early morning and then leave when it gets hot and return for the early evening . So I guess we don't fit the long time AP catagory.. :Pinkbounc

This year we had an 8-day stay. Went to BB one day, and went to MK for 4.5 hours, Epcot for 3 hours the next day (with a 5 hour break in between), then took 3 days off, then went to AK for 4 hours and MGM for 5 hours, with a 1.5 hour break in between.

Loved relaxing in the SAB pool complex, and the DD's were not complaining about being on the rides. Very relaxing. Oh - we had PH passes this time around.

:smooth:

I usually go about 2 hours per day around 10 AM to noon, eat at the best place I can find at the parks or else find a nice place for lunch at one of the resorts. I head back after lunch to OKW where we spend the rest of the day or DD shopping. The parks no longer are a place for me to go. I used to love to spend 4 or 5 hours at Epcot but since it has changed I no longer can see going there but for any hour or so. I answered 0 to 25

We only go once or twice a year but I still voted 26-50%. We usually buy a hopper pass and divide it between 2 stays. With a 6-day pass you get the extra minor park passes so each trip we usually spend about 3 days in the major parks and maybe 1 day at a water park. If we go to PI we usually pay separate for a 2-day pass or something such as that. But we didn't go at all this past trip. The only time that we buy a los pass anymore is when we bring people with us. We have thought about buying APs, but then we would feel that we had to go to the parks most every day to get our money's worth.

Some days we go to the parks for a few hrs and some days not at all and we spend the day just at the resort itself and the pool.

We've now been so many times that we go into the parks to hit our favorite rides when the mood hits or to see fireworks or for a meal and relax and enjoy -- no more rush-rush we must do everything-see everything for us LOL:p

we go to the parks one day on each trip.

we bought the ultimate park hopper with our DVC membership a few years back. on the day we go to the parks, we get up early and hit 3 parks in the same day.

I checked "every single day", but it needs some explanation.

We usually go into a park every day, even if it's only for a couple of hours. Latly, what we have been doing(if DH and I are travelling alone) is go into the park in the AM, go to the pool in the afternoon, and back out, either to a park, PI, the BW, or shopping at night.

So while we do go to a park every day, we do not "commando tour" any more.

If we are with others, we tend to spend more time in the parks, especially if they are folks who don't get to WDW as often as we do.
