How much time do we need at HS?

IF your kids enjoy the shows, you can spend an almost full day there with Beauty and the Beast, Nemo, Indiana Jones, Disney Junior.

If not, it will be a half day park for sure.

Don't miss TSM (ONLY if you have FP+), Star Tours, Little Mermaid, Muppets, most kids like the playground too.

I would go for a midday break for certain. YOu can get a lot done at DHS at rope drop.

As PPers have noted Fantasmic is a darker show. You will wear out your butt cheeks sitting on the bleachers......

Thanks, folks! You all are so incredibly helpful! My kiddos are pretty brave -- so we had planned to at least shoot for Fantasmic. Still trying to decided if we do rope drop and go back to the condo for a break and then return for the evening shows, etc. or if we do a later arrival and push through to Fantasmic. My kids have zero trouble staying up late (not so much me, though!).....decisions, decisions.....Thanks, all!
If they have no problems being up late, I would hit the park at opening and stay all day. There are lots of shows, and not a lot of walking, so plenty of opportunities to rest in the park. Have fun!

I keep wondering if Fantasmic! will be too much for DD5. She does not like Ursula one bit, so that part has me concerned.

If you can go on a day that has pm EMH, I highly recommend it. The Disney Jr dance party is a lot of fun. We have no trouble spending an entire day there, plus an additional morning before MNSSHP. There are lots of shows, and tons of characters.
What is the Disney Jr Dance Party, that isn't the same thing as the show is it?

I don't remember Ursula in Fantasmic. More Malficient and Jafar, am I wrong?
We love Fantasmic but either I'm old or just not paying attention to Ursula

Ursula is projected on the water screens for mere seconds during the nightmare part of the show, but is not physically there. You can see the show on YouTube. You may want to skip the LM show at DHS and the ride at MK if Ursula is a big issue.

No, the dance party is held in that building during EMH, and they have a DJ, balloon artists, and rotating characters to dance with. Not a meet and greet, but an opportunity for tons of candid pics.

Thank you for the info. We watched LM a couple of weeks ago and I was trying to get her to act silly during Ursula'a songs. This is the only villain she has issues with! The kid loves Jafar, seriously. I have until December to work on her :) I don't want to miss any LM stuff lol.

Wow - thanks for the tip. My kids loved the Monsters and Incredibles dance parties at MK, I think it was during MNSSHP - I'll have to check this out.

We only go to DHS the second half of the day since we can't seem to find enough to do all day but love Fantasmic

I ditto your post about Ursula with the LM show and Journey under the Sea if , my DD hated those two attractions with an out of the blue fear of Ursula last year and we won't be doing them this year.

Maybe I will ride those alone ha!

If you can push through the entire day I would do that. When doing DHS it can be tricky because most of the attractions are shows that are set for specific times so if you don't catch the show at the time it is going in you will have to wait a period of time for the next show. That time waiting can add up.

I had no idea about the evening hours dance party! My dd (4yrs when we go) would love it. Have you done this recently or know if they still do it? I google searched but didn't come up with anything too recent and with all of the changes happening there who knows. The official website only seems to list a dance party in Downtown Disney. Really hoping this will be happening this Nov. when we go!
