How much time did you spend on your verandah?

As beautiful as The Disney Magic is on the inside the real Magic is outside... Sea days are awesome... If you want some quiet time to really relax, I suggest you enjoy a lounge chair on the outside Promenade on Deck 4. The sound of the waves as the ship sails is extremely soothing and the overall tenor of Deck 4 is quiet.

A stateroom with balcony is quite enjoyable. I had my coffee each morning there. My wife & I would enjoy one last look at the ocean each night before going to bed.

Staterooms aboard these ships are rather small and the additional glass windows/door with the ability to look to the outside gives the stateroom a bigger feel and relives one from that feeling of claustrophobia.

We had a Cat 11 on our first cruise (3-day) and I wouldn't recommend it for a family of four. For the last cruise - and for the next, too - we took a Cat 7 with navigator's verandah and loved it. Also you would have kind of three rooms as you can divide the mainroom with a heavy curtain and have the varandah. If it is not to heavy a burden for your budget take the verandah.
We spent usually at night some time on the verandah, enjoying the stars, seeing lights of other ships or of the shore passing by. And it was also cool to have a look at the ports of call.

We enjoyed our verandah on the 4-day. Unfortunately, the cabin directly forward of us used theirs as a smoking room. Many times I had to go inside and shut the door because I couldn't stand the stink.

We love our verandah! We have cruised without one twice. We just love sitting outside in the morning having coffee and tea watching the sea go by. It is also a nice getaway from the crowds aboard the ship. A peaceful place.

Now my sister who can afford the largest stateroom on the ship prefers an inside room! She will never get a verandah. She likes the darkness of an inside room. So it is all in what you want. Kathy

One night there was a storm in the distance and we could see the cloud-to-cloud lightening as we sat on the verandah. It was incredible!

I heard once that with the Navigator's Verandah you wouldn't have the smoking neighbor forward problem since it's more enclosed. Taswira probably could answer that one better than I.

We've had veranda rooms on both our Magic cruises and really wouldn't want to cruise without it. I enjoy the "peace and quiet" a veranda offers, yet still being able to enjoy watching the water and listening to the sounds of the ocean. I like watching us leave port from my own veranda, rather than being up on top deck with the masses of people. We enjoy our morning coffee out there, just sitting holding hands and gazing up at the stars, etc. We are doing the 4-day Wonder next January, with my parents and we have adjoining veranda rooms booked.
