We've gone on 6 trips to wdw and the average time between trips for us is 19 mos., which must be why I am ready to go back again!
What is your average?
We go every year in August, so every 12 months. However, I would have no problem with a monthly trip if I could afford it. My kids are always asking if we can live at Disney, if only that was an option for us.
We'll be there in August , too!! We also are located in the town of "No Goal and Wide Right". Ha ha- I love that!! See you in the land of magic in Aug!
We have AP's so we try to get there two to three times per year. This may end if the airfares keep climbing in cost.
We used to go at least once a year when the children were young. Now that they're college age or in high school were go less often and by ourselves. Haven't been there in over a year and probably won't get there this year either unless I can convince my husband to take a long weekend away.
Our first trip was Sept 2009. After that we were hooked. We went December 2010 and now just booked a trip for August of this year with a Disney cruise! Not obsessed or anything! We love it! We are taking another family this year who has never been. Can't wait to see their faces when we walk into Main Street for the first time!!!
We usually average about a year (12 months) between trips some times a month more or less. We tend to do Disney in January, February or March however, our last trip was Feb.2010 and our next will be in June 2011 so 16 months between last time and the next one.
DH would like to go every year, but seems that its ending up to be every 2-3 years. I think its important to go while the kids are small... soon enough sports and school/college will get in the way, or they wont be as into it as they are as "little kids". Not to mention its so magical and the Memories, smells, sounds and feelings cant be recreated anywhere else!
Disney is pretty pricey and seems to be getting worse... we are a family of 5 and live 1,100 miles away! So that has a lot to do with it, too. I am trying to convince DH to buy a DVC, so we shall see....
Well, we've only been twice as a family (2005 and 2010), but I'll be back in 2012!!! We do make the most of our trips, though. The first was 10 days, the second was two weeks.
Since we've had APs (in 2002) we've tried to get 3-4 trips in per pass. Since my DH and I started going to WDW together, our longest stretch away was from February 2001- November 2002 (we did have a DL trip in 8/2001 though). In 2010, we had our next longest stretch away from WDW- we went in January, and then didn't get back until November- but we had a trip to DLP in June, and DL in September!
We typically go to WDW in January, May, and September. If a cheap flight pops up we might take an extra trip, provided we have enough DVC points left too.
For many years, we went once a year. Our DS is now 17 and a senior so I forsee our trips changing, and DH and I want to travel to other places. DH and I went to WDW for the first time sans DS in Jan. I think we will wait another 2 years before we head back.
It really depends and varies. Last year I went in May (with hubby and younger kids), October (only with hubby) and then again this January (with my older kids). Now we probably won't go back until 2012. DH and I talked about squeezing in an adult's only October trip again but not sure we will be able to pull that off or not.
We had 5 years between our Honeymoon and 2nd trip and between 2nd trip and son's first trip. After that we tried for two years between, 1.5 years between and every year. It fluctuates, but we go as often as we can afford. Although we just got a brand new kitchen built onto our house, so that killed this year's trip! But every time I walk into the kitchen or cook I know it is so worth the sacrifice. (never thought I'd say that)
We are hoping to buy into DVC within a couple of years, so that we can "lock ourselves into" taking yearly Disney trips.
We started out every other year, and have moved to once a year now. This year, we're actually going twice (once with the kids, once without). I don't see the twice a year happening often, but I can hope.
We go every other year. There are 6 of us, and currently I have 1 in HS, 1 in MS, 1 in elem., and 1 in preschool. Logistically, it just makes sense to go every other year and stay for 2 weeks. It also gives the kids time to be nostalgic for the trip, and look forward to it. We'll be going this summer, and doing Universal/IoA/Seaworld, in addition to all 4 WDW parks.
