apparently, i order a ton

3 shrimp tempura rolls, 1 avocado roll, and 1 sweet potato roll (or another avocado if they don't have sweet potato).

i'm not going to change my order because that's what fills me, but i didn't realize there was a "normal" amount lol

I can eat a half of a roll. But I prefer sashimi and usually have 3 pieces.

I've never noticed how little or how much anyone else eats.

Depends how big the rolls are. Our regular place has pretty good size rolls, we order about 1 1/2 rolls per person. Of course, there is also soup and sometimes an appetizer.

None. I never liked the taste of it. :lmao:

Eat what you want, no one's counting or looking. Well, except that weird guy there in the corner.

they're usually 6 pieces each. i'm not going to change what or how i order, but i was curious lol. i don't really eat seafood (except shrimp), so instead of ordering fish ones, a lot of mine are vegetable based. the ones i mentioned above are my current obsessions, but normally it's some cucumber/avocado/vegetable thing.

Is that all just for one person? 30 pieces of sushi, based on your calculations? :scared1:

If so, yep, that is WAY more than we order here. We do eat the fish kind, and our rolls are 8 pieces, but 4-5 rolls would feed three of us and still have leftovers. I typically can eat about 1 1/2 rolls MAX. Usually about 8-10 pieces total.

Maybe it's how they are made and what you get, but I find sushi really filling. NO judging here, but if you are asking, then yes, I find that an excessive amount for one person to eat.

I usually order two rolls and actually finish about 1 1/2 rolls.
Or 5 pieces of nigiri sushi and one roll.
Or 9 pieces of sashimi and some edamame.

I feel like those are also pretty standard orders for most of my sushi dining companions. I do know some guys who regularly order 3 rolls, though. I just find sushi incredibly filling - I couldn't put down more than 2 rolls if I wanted to.

with a soup and salad I can barley finish one roll but like to get 2 different ones or share a variety with others.

I've never eaten sushi, but the restaurant that I goes to that serves it charges for unfinished plates. Is that normal?

We usually have edamame or miso soup and then share three rolls. That's for two people. And we are pretty stuffed going out. I cannot imagine eating three rolls by yourself. Assuming 6-8 pieces per roll. You asked, I am sharing. :)

PS ~ I love sushi!

As long as you're paying, who's to stop you from eating? Do you order other things with it or just the sushi rolls?

The only time I've gotten sushi was at a buffet, I only take about 4 pieces. I usually get soup and some rice with veggies. I don't think I could eat 24 pieces of sushi.

For the two of us, we usually get:
2 Calif Rolls
1 Tuna Roll
1 Salmon Roll
1 Eel Roll
1 Special Roll

And 2 Miso Soups.

Yes, you order a ton! I'm not saying don't, order whatever you like, it's your money but five rolls for one person? I say

I usually get 2.

I don't eat it, but my girlfriend usually orders 1 or 2 rolls and then her entree.

We have a couple of different ways we order. We will sometimes order two or three appetizers for a table of four then a box each which is another roll per person with other stuff. Or- We order just for ourselves which is usually an appetizer each and a couple per person or none at all because I get udon or this amazing pork dish that is the best comfort food-warm, saucy and just delicious. Making me hungry!

I can eat 2 to 2.5 rolls by myself.

She is eating 4+ rolls which around here is about 24 pieces? If it's what you enjoy eating and fills you up who cares what people think about your ordering. I usually eat one roll. But that's usually not what I order at sushi anyway.

I can't usually manage to finish one roll. I usually get spicy tuna. I have a pretty small appetite though and eat 5-6 little meals during the day.

If I'm sharing we get three rolls for two people, so 1 1/2 each. Ιf it's just me, I get two rolls but I can't finish it all.
