How much spending money??

I voted 50 to 100. Last time we went, Easter 2005, we had $100 per day. There was me, DH, and DS(5 at the time). And meals/snacks/drinks all came out of that $100 per day. We still had some left over and bought some fabulous souvies.

We're heading back this May without DDP and plan on the same $100 per day. I think we'll be fine.

I take about 60 dollars a day and on special days like mvmcp I'll take 150.I know I,m going to spend alot on pins and spec. merch.I usually have extra because I don't spend all of my 60 on those other days.We also have the DDP so no worries about food or drinks.

Just an FYI for any newbies to Disney or to the DDP, you will still need some money for some food and drinks especially in the HOT months.

I ran out of snack credits less than 1/2 way through my trip due to using them for water/drinks and ice cream.

Is this amount per person? I would think that even on the DDP I would need well over $100 a day for our family of 4.

We did the dining plan too, and barely spent anything else on food or dirnks. I think we bought a total of 4 extra drinks, and my DH bought coffe every morning. It depends o nthe family, of course.

We're planning on taking $500 on a Disney Gift Card for our main dining expenses (Dinners). DD16 and DD13 will have their own Gift Cards with $200 each that they've saved for souvenirs and etc. Other than that...I guess we're planning on another $100 per day.

We plan on taking at least $50.00 and what we don't use will be added on to the next days spending money allowance.

We take about $1,200 in travelers checks with us. DH and I are credit card free- so that isn't an option for us! I also put about $200 away on the paypal debit card in case of an emergency. That is for Me, DH and DS1, and we are always on the DDP.

Last time we spent close to 1500.00 for 8 days. But in my defense I did my Xmas shopping for our relatives out of that. So that was a huge portion of it. Wehn we are on that trip we also didn't know when we were coming back so we splurged on stuff for us as well. Little did we realize we would be able to go back almost exactly a year later courtsey of MIL. I know I wont' be spending nearly that much this time.

ETA: We don't bring cash. This was on our room key that was tied to a credit card. I had budgeted that much and just paid off the balance when we got home.

It really depends...Last trip for just DH and I we bought breakfast every morning, had to buy souvies for the kids (tons ) since they weren't there, rent watercrafts etc...We brought $500 for 6nights/7days and ended up using the room key to charge a few times...This time we will bring the same and the kids will each have $100 for themselves plus we'll use the room key to charge if we HAVE to. But we want to keep it cheaper this time.

I voted less than $50 a day. We also do DDP and bring little to no cash w/ us, if you loose it then it's gone for good. We do take around $200 in travellers cheques and then have our debit and credit cards. The cards are only used in case of an emergency.

What we do is near the end of the trip we get our souveniers. Last trip we were on DDP and ended up spending $146 during the entire trip, I hope to do the same this year.

I take less then 50.00$.Well I spend less then 50.00$.My mom usually buy's my sovieners even though she tells me I have to buy them.lol.

I don't make it her but I think she want's too,to be nice.My mom just take's her credit card with her or if not then she usually carries all her money for fear of it being stolen at the hotel.
