How much should we tip Mousekeeping?

I don't where this comes from, but I read somewhere that the customary housekeeping tip is $1-2 per guest in the room. I typically leave $3 bc there are two of us in the room and it falls in the middle. Plus the fact that I do not leave housekeeping alot to do in my room. I am habitual about keeping things organized so that nothing ends up missing.

how much should we tip?? This will be our 2nd trip and maybe we didn't leave enough last time. I am a neat freak so i made sure beds were made, bathroom was super clean and other than 1 bag of garage, there was nothing to do for housekeeping (andYES it was dusty in the cabin...i also vacuumed-mousekeeping did not do it).... despite all of that...i tipped $3 or $4 per night. There are two adults and 4 children (who are super clean).

since we are dvc the tipping is a bit differnt for us. if our room is clean upon arrival i usually leave a 15 dollar tip before our next maid service is done. we usually have a one bedroom so there is more space involved so i feel that is a good tip. if the maid service does a good job i will leave another tip, usually smaller because we usually doen stay more then 10 days. if the room is not very clean then the tip is minimal.

when we are saving our points and stay at a non dvc resort we usually leave a dollar a day per person. which for us is 4$ a day

Ok-maybe I've got too much time on my hands, but.....I have already printed out and filled the Mousekeepers envelopes for the morning maid service. (for two rooms, 8 days-I printed a lot!) Does anyone know if there is a different style for Turn Down? I'd like to be able to leave both in the morning in case we don't get back to the room. But-I would like to make it clear which is which. I know I could print my own envelopes but the Disney styles are cuter! TIA for any info.

We typically leave $5.00 per day and my wife makes a point to speak with whomever is going to clean our room before we leave. Not to be bossy or demanding, but to say "hello" and let her know how much we appreciate her hard work. Our visit last year to POR was wonderful as usual and we had absolutely no issues with Mousekeeping. We never have.

i would say a few bucks for everyday your there, but make sure you leave it every day because if you leave something for them at the end of your stay it may not go to the person that did the majority of your mouse keeping
