for an alcoholic drink. I normally have a drink with a meal and just tip on the total amount. Our next trip we are planning to visit the Adventurers Club and tha bar at the AKL. What is the usual amount to tip? Do you tip a set amount per drink or do you do 20% like for a meal? Also, do you tip at a kiosk like the Margarita place at Epcot? If so, does the same rule apply? TIA

I think you'll get a range of opinions on this -- I'd say that you'd tip "change plus a dollar" for a single drink ordered at a bar; if your drink cost (and I have no idea what they're charging these days for drinks at bars at WDW so I am making this up as an example!), say, $4.50, I'd leave $6. If you are running a tab (that is, not paying by each drink ordered but sitting at the bar for awhile) I'd leave about 20% of the total (assuming service was good -- closer to 15% if service was just 'ok'). At a kiosk, I would look to see if there was a "tips" jar out on the counter -- if there is one, and the service was good, I'd use my "change plus a dollar" rule and if service was just ok then I'd just drop in the change. If there were no tip jar, I would not tip at a kiosk.

Hope this helps!

I typically do 20%, unless using our DDE which automatically adds 18%, in which case I do not add any extra. If service is particularly bad, I would complain about the 18% automatic gratuity.

Hubby is more generous than I when it comes to complaining about bad service :)

I may get flamed, but I probably wouldn't tip at the Margarita stand at Epcot, similar to how I don't tip at the Pretzel Stand in Epcot. I don't see a differentiation in service between the two. The only difference is that one is serving me alcohol and the other is serving me a pretzel and a soda. One could argue that the person who got me a pretzel and a soda did more work. They had to go two places to get my order.

At a bar I like the change plus a dollar rule. To me a bar offers much more service than a kiosk.
