How much should I estimate for TS restaurants

Last minute trip. We still don't know which park we'll be in each day. I need to set a realistic budget for food. What is a typical price range (without wine) for adult meals at a table service restaurant? How about counter service?

If this question is too basic, is there a link I should read first? Or is there a particular travel book I should read with good reviews and budgeting tips? Thanks for your help.

CS - $10 - $15 per person

TS - $25 - $75 per person depending on whether you get an appetizer, the chicken/pasta entree or the pricier filet mignon, dessert and coffee, etc.. If you only get the chicken/pasta entree and nothing else or just an appetizer and dessert it will be on the lower end.

Just wanted to add if you have smaller appetites it's totally possible to split a CS meal, ask for an extra cup of ice to split the drink or ask for a cup of ice water.

For instance at CHH in the MK we split the tuna sandwich, even half is a good size.

You can always get an extra side of fries for example if it's not quite enough for two.

The best way to estimate is to look at the menus on All Ears. It's also a good way to figure out if the dining plan is worth it or not (if you are staying onsite). I chose the restaurants I wanted to eat at, and then the meal I'd most likely get and added the cost.

We use $50 a head w/tip for most TS.Any combo of app, entrée,dessert to reach that. Will spend more for signature meals but under $100 per person except V&A.
This compares nicely to character meals which are similar in price, louder, crowded and slightly less quality food wise, but still fun.

CS is very rare for us but $15 is typical per person.

Lunches are a little less expensive at TS and a late lunch will sometimes suffice as 2 meals if we eat slow and pack it in.Not a problem as we are foodies and multiple courses mean more stuff to try. Also frees up time at the park just when everyone else is eating for a chance at a walk-on to that ride you missed earlier.

I agree with the poster that said check the menus out. THat is the only way to get a good idea what your bill may look like.

Obviously it may be a bit more as 2011 will most likely increase in price, but it stills gives you an indication.

To check out the menus you can simply look at this website under dining. They have all the menus on property. Allears.net also has them.

Thanks for the good tips. It's nice that you can check the menus and prices online!

Just a note check the menus here at Dis as I have found the menus at Allears lately way out of date. Also there are menus on the Disney web site as well but only for TS service. I fine if I budget 50.00 a day I am fine as I only eat breakfast and Dinner and have a snack for lunch. I carry items with me if I feel my sugar getting to low since I am diabetic. This works out very well for me.

funny you should ask, we were just costing out meals for 4 people , just to see if DDP or DDXP was a deal for us, so for 4 people with a couple of appetizers for the table, 4 entrees and 4 desserts, and 4 soft drinks, each meal came to and average of 150.00

that being 10-15$ for each app, 20-25$ per meal, 6-8 $ per dessert, and 3$ per non alcoholic beverage

When you are figuring cost, don't forget to include tax & tip. (FL sales tax is 6%.)

I estimated $15 per adult for CS. For TS I looked at menus & chose what we might order, unless it's a buffet then I know exactly what it will cost. We're not on DDP so not doing a TS every day, and my food budget is $800. This is for 4 TS meals & 17 CS meals, 2 adults & a 2-year-old.
