I'm trying to budget for food for myself, husband and 2 teens. I'm planning for 5 days I want to have 3 table service meals for dinner 2 quick service dinners and quick service lunch everyday. Breakfast will be snacks I pack. I just want to be realistic with cost of food.

I would say around $900-950 total:

~$15/QS meal (incl drink & tax) x 4 people x 7 lunches/dinners = $420
~$35/TS meal (incl drink & tax) X 4 people = $140 + ~$25 tip = $165 x 3 dinners = $495

You can go higher or lower depending on where you're eating, what you're eating, whether you're sharing meals, etc. PP's suggestion of checking out menus at allears.net is good.

This will all depend on where you eat. We just came back from a trip with our teenage nieces and found they were happier with QS so they could get to the next attraction. That said, we insisted on a couple of sit down meals because we knew we would need the break. Via Napoli was a HUGE hit and with the large pizza, the cost was reasonable. They were not impressed with Brown Derby and I consider that a wasted meal, even though I loved it. The only breakfast was BOG - got everyone out of bed early! The rest of the time it was cuties and granola bars.

Good luck!!

If you are eating cheaper 1 TS non-buffet meals, it's one answer...if you are eating character buffets or aycte buffets or 2 TS equivalent meals, it's another.

The $420 for QS is about right...but if you do the buffet thing 3x, you'll need approx $50/person + tip or $230-$250/meal...so $750 for TS...

So, depending on TS desires, $1170 should be about right...could be higher with the 2TS equivalents, but not much higher...could be lower if you are looking at The Plaza, Sci-Fi, etc for sit downs...

Before I started scrolling down for replies, I roughly calculated out $975. Pretty much identical to these calculations, but I went with a $40 TS meal. It really is tough to say for sure because it depends on how you want to eat, wether you will order appetizers and desserts, if you'll want alcoholic drinks, soda or just water. Or on the flip side, will you want only an appetizer or to share meals... all of those things can drive your budget higher or lower. You could always check menus and figure it out that way, if you wanted to be more precise in your planning.

I start with how much the DDP would cost, and go from there. It's a good start, though, for smaller eaters, it's a too much money. What to do with the extra cash... Where's the gift shop?

I think $35/ person including tax & drink is too low. I would go more to $45.

Thanks so much for all the replies. I was budgeting $50 per person per day. So $1000 total. And I always pack snacks so nobody gets hangry.
