how much per day for food budget?

We would love to the the DDP, but I don't think it will work for us. There are six of us and 5 of us count as adults. The problem is, my 10 & 11 year olds are very petite and would never eat enough :sad2: to justify an adult meal. We would still have to get the adult dining plan for them:sad1: . (Let me know if this is not correct.) If they ate enough to make it worth while, we would do the DDP! It is fun to have the freedom to get the more expensive items on the menu!

What I would suggest -

For each adult for one CS & one TS per day, calculate $60 a person per day.

For the child for one CS & one TS per day, calculate $40 (maybe a bit high - but would include a snack per day).

So- per day it would be $220

For 6 full days = $1320

This seems awfully high.

Kids meals are $4.49 for CS and $7.59 for TS

Adult Combo Meals average around $10 for CS, so they'd need a $50 TS dinner to hit the $60 limit. Not impossible, but not the 'norm' either.

Using this calculation it's more realistic to assume

$15/Child (1CS 1TS and 1 $3 Snack)

$40/Adult (1CS $10, 1TS $27, 1 $3 Snack)

This number can also be high, I am just running our numbers for our 2010 trip and am trying to figure out how to make the DDP work for us. Our numbers are much lower than even this estimate.

For our 9 Day trip in January 2010 -

Breakfasts:
Crystal Palace - $18.99
Chef Mickey's - $22.99
1900 Park Fare - $18.99

Lunches:
Tusker House - $19.99
Biergarten - $19.99
Beaches & Cream - $15.00 (We're all splitting sandwiches here so we can have the Kitchen Sink for Dessert)

Dinners:
LeCellier - $30.00
Boma - $26.99
Jiko - $40.00
California Grill - $30.00 (We want to try the Ravioli)
Citricos - $35.00
T-Rex - $16.00

So our adult prices are much more $30 - $50/day depending on the day.

"So our adult prices are much more $30 - $50/day depending on the day"

Great, It looks about what I figured. I said 10 for CS but would allow $15 on paper and $40 for dinner, plus cocktail if we did that. I cant see myself doing TS each day and not for lunch. We will have character breakfast at Chef Mickeys but we are 11:15 seating for buffet breakfast, so it will be "lunch" for us, again breakfast is in the room. This is the only TS lunch I will plan for.
