After my experience with GF concierge this visit (free upgrade), I was really considering paying the extra next time I visit. I'm just wondering just how much extra I can expect to pay. I plan on spending at least 4 nights at the GF and don't mind not having a lagoon view. I did ask how much to upgrade to concierge at the AKL and it was $120 per room (almost double our room rate).

Can you get good code rates for concierge for less than this?

It depends on what type of room you are comparing it to. The Polynesian concierge GV is about $56 more a night than a regular GV room. The YC/BC cost about $100 more based on GV rooms. That sounds right about the AKL. The YC/BC and the AKL have more food through out the day than the Polynesian has to offer.

It would be for GF garden view room most likely, lodge concierge.

Wow $56 is not much more to pay for concierge at the Poly!

Those rates are based on discounted rooms. The difference between a GV room at the GF and a Lodge concierge is $89. I know they offer less that the Main building concierge, that would cost $207 more:eek:

Sorry to be a PITA, but is the $89 based on discount or rack rates?

TIA

Joanna

Mirlow,
Can you elaborate on what the YC/BC and AKL concierge have to offer more foodwise than Poly (I'm assuming you've stayed at all these places)? I've been to Tikiman's site about Poly concierge food offerings and it seems okay. I'm torn between AKL concierge and Poly concierge this December. We got great Poly prices and AKL concierge would cost us $66 per night more than Poly concierge.

Thanks,
Rita

P.S. You can e-mail me a reply if you'd like.

Those are discounted rates. The GF GV is $220 and Lodge concierge is $309.

When I booked our July stay in the main building of the GF, I asked specifically about the views. I was told that there was no additional charge. Because of the set-up, all the views are excellent and either overlooking the marina or the lagoon.

Since you pay for concierge by the room I think it depends on how many in your family to see how good a deal it is for you. If it was just me Im sure I wouldnt stay concierge because it would a better deal just to buy your meals. We got a great rate for YC concierge in Sept and it was a great deal. With our family size it turned out to be like $13 a day per person. We only had to buy 1 meal a day--usually we were in the parks. We ate breakfast every am in the lounge. We had snacks in the afternoon. We had dessert at night and all the soda (no DP for you DP lovers out there) and milk whenever we wanted it. We are now DVC but I think we will still slip in a few concierge days on our trips.
