Starting to put money aside for our January trip now so just wondering if people don't mind sharing how much spending money they usually take? It's two adults and 1 infant so just curious to get a sense of how much we should be aiming for?! Last time we had the half board meal plan and it was little mans birthday so we were given a lot of money so can't remember how much we took. TIA

Xxx

I budget 100 euros per day for the 4 of us in my family. We dont scrimp on food but we certainly dont eat at Inventions or Walts or any other fine dining place. Its usually Cafe Mickey, rainforest, annettes and plaza gardens for us. And we usually end up buying the usual soft plush toy and maybe a buzz lightyear laser gun and we still end up coming home with a few euros as well.

hope that helps.

When we are there on a budget trip I normaly put aside €100 per day and that is for two adults and it normaly covers us for meals and spending money.

But saying that DW and I were there earlier this year and we had a bit of a naughty blow out trip and we spent neary €2,000 over 7 days. One evening our bill at the California Grill came to €400.

But I have found €100 per day normaly covers us.

I'd go with €100 per day too. You should have plenty :thumbsup2
Also Jacob will eat for free in TS and Buffet restaurants if he is still under 3 :goodvibes

Im confused how you say 100 euros a day for a family of 4 we spent half that on a counter meal for lunch. The buffets alone cost us roughly 70 euros and that is without paying for the youngest as she is under 3.

We budget 120 a day for meals - counter service comes in at around 40 with AP discount for two adults and two children, then that leaves 80 for a table meal. But we always have loads left over!
Last time with two adults and 1 child, we were there for 8 days, ate in Inventions for breakfast, Cape Cod, Restaurant de Stars, Hakuna Matata twice, EOS twice, two meals off site (Chinese and kebabs at Torcy) McDonald's twice (with vouchers for free nuggets with mains) Colonel Hathi's, bought coffee/HUGE baby bells/croissants/pineapple juice and breads for breakfast fresh every morning......and had 80 euros left from 400! Original budget was 260 food for 5 days as we planned before hand, but decided to stay another 3 days as we didn't spend the shopping money and were loving how much we could get for our money if we planned well and still came home with money! We did nothing but eat LOL!!! Our trick was to take crisps, squash to make up from the fountains and cereal bars etc with us from home. Doing the same again for October half term and already have a stash cupboard ;)

Its moreso with AP or SHC discount on my food bills when I visit but its easy to use DLRP magics menu page to be organized and roughly plan ahead. I know these are now a little outta date but only generally out by a couple of euros. We have a budget of ¬280 ish aside for all meals for 5 days next month for 1 adult 2 kids and thats with three sit down dinners and a buffet.

We take 100 eur for 1 adult, 2 kids. I always do the counting before the trip, deciding where we'll eat and that gives me a very good idea of food costs. I add a bit extra and basically it comes to 100 eur per day. If we decide on fancy and expensive meal like Inventions, I add more.

We came back last week and I had a budget of €140 per day, not including evening meals as he had the half board meal plan. It was a generous budget, I knew we'd not want to scrimp. To be honest we underspent so on the last day I had a rather fantastic few hours of shopping :cool1: I also drank a fair few Glowtinis in the HNY bar.

Biggest expense was CS meals, but we ate a huge breakfast and shared our food to keep the costs down.

We were thinking $200 a day (converts to about 150 eur) for 2 adults. Do you think we should budget more since I would think it won't be a trip we make often? We aren't so concerned with fancy meals but we'd like to get nice souvenirs. (Of course that is only if it isn't the same generic stuff we can get here!!). Plus my hubby is quite picky so we're packing a lot of snack items to bring with us from the states. I figure it makes room for souvenirs on the way back so we're both happy!

Also - does anyone here have to convert money? I'm wondering if there is a place with good rates there or if we should look before we leave. Thanks!!

Ducky - I see you're going from the states in November? Might I ask what dates? My family of 4 is also making our 1st visit to DLP from the states (Oklahoma) in November! REALLY looking forward to it by now!

Though I'm not much help since it will be our 1st trip -- we usually budget about $250 per day for our family of 4 in the states (and we've done DLR a lot -- usually every year). So to ME, your number seems pretty good!

We're heading over at the end of the month and staying 6 days! I can't wait. I still remember the thrill of seeing DL the first time. Can't wait for that brand new park feel!! :D

We have to convert money into euros when we visit from the UK. We use a fee free credit card which doesn't load the exchange rate to pay for the big items like meals, shopping, hotels if we're staying offsite. We also take some euros in cash to pay for smaller items ie ice-creams, drinks, the shuttle car from the airport etc and find it's always better to buy any foreign currency in the UK before we leave rather than wait until we get to France. I would assume it's the same for you and that you'll be better to bring some euros from the US. You will be able to exchange money at DLP but I'd imagine the rates will be loaded and not in your favour.

We usually have a half board plan and budget 100 euro a day for lunch, treats and souvenirs. Ds usually has a bit of money saved from grandparents too as I'm sure dd will when we go in march. I'm already planning what to buy her (last March she was too young for a lot of the souviners!)

We were there in July, 2 adults and 2 children and we usually spent about 40 euros for lunch or dinner in places like caseys corner hot dogs or Earl of sandwich, pizzeria bella note etc. That's about 80-90 euros plus water bottles, ice-creams, soft drinks or snacks another 30 euros. So that sums up to 120-130¬ daily. If you can manage to eat at Mc Donalds in the " disney village" though, it was about 20¬ which it's much cheaper and the cost per day is cut in half. So since there's only 2 adults and an infant going 100¬ is enough per day. Have fun :)
