I'm getting married this Saturday and Leaving for WDW on Sunday. We're staying a week and we do have the dining plan. How much spending money should I take? The dining plan covers alot but I assume we will want a couple extra snacks here and there plus other stuff like going to see a movie or mini golf. I've never been to disney but know it can be expensive, please help me estimate. Thanks! :bitelip:

Congratulations!

My DH and I honeymooned in WDW in 1985 - I'd never been until then, and I beg him to take me back all the time! We even had our first "fight" in Epcot...

I always obsess over bringing money...and then I obsess over not having enough. Now my plan is to use my Disney Visa card, and charge to my room so I don't have to worry about anything in the parks. Then, I only get one bill to bring home.

Have a great time!

congratulations!

we usually take about $1oo-200 a piece for "incidentals". that includes any extra food, souveniers, gifts for those at home, don't usually do movies and stuff as we stay in the parks till they close and get up early to be in them when they open. ( did do Cirque last time which if you can get seats for was fantastic). we have been enough that we've learned not to buy a lot of "cute disney stuff"we won't ever use at home so I bought last time a couple pins, got a cell phone case and a nice metal mickey pen last time, a small cloth shoulder bag to use there ( china ,epcot, whole $5  ) probably spent $60-70 or so on that stuff (for get what husband bought.) so you don't have to spend a ton of money although it is easy to!

and i found a cute cheap "remembered you while i was gone gift" mickey shaped soap or candle plus holder, under $5 per person ( everyone really liked it that i gave it to) i saw them a couple places at dtd and in the parks

......I take $100 spending per day for our family of 4. I'm pretty conservative though. My kids have their own alottment of spending money. That is if we're on the dining plan. If you've never been, plan on more.....enjoy yourself.

Whenever I travel, whether to WDW or anyplace else, I use an adage that I picked up from my mother-in-law:

Get ready to go and then only take half as many clothes and twice as much money.

Always works for me! :goodvibes

We usually take about $250 to $300 a day for just the two of us. We love to buy the nice collectable pieces and pins. The rest is spent on snacks, balloons, tips, and whatever else we decide that we just must have. Maggie

for a week long trip we generally take $1000 for the 4 of us. now with the meal plan, you will certainly need less, but i would take it if you have it to spare. you never know when you will run into a situation where you need extra funds. (emergencies or just a drop dead cool souvie that you simply must have) for just the two of you you might take less, but it is your one and only honeymoon, so you may feel like splurging.

an added bonus to taking a little extra is you feel like you are ahead of the game for your next vacation if you roll the "left over" money back into vacation savings.
