OK, I plan on going to WDW for 12 days in spring of '07. After all of the park tickets and plane tickets and room tickets are paid for, how much spending money should I need to last me for 12 days? Keep in mind I will be trying to save as much as I can and not blow it on every little thing.

Also, Would it be faster from the Sports resot hotel to MK if I took the bus straight there OR... if I took the bus to Epcot and rode the monorail to MK? Which would be faster?

It is always faster to take the most direct route to a park. Then you don't have to build in wait time in case you happen to miss the immeadiate connection.

As far as spending money- does this include your food money, how many people are you talking about, do you buy lots of souvineers, are you willing to go without everything single that looks cute

Take the bus directly if you want the fastest way. If you want a scenic way take option #2. As for $ we have a family of four and plan about $75-100 a day depending on where we eat and if we can eat BF in our room.

We are a family of 5, 3 ds's ages 5, 12 and 18 dh and me and we can easily spend 200-250 a day that being bf in room or a quick muffin , lunch at a
sit down and dinner at counter service, a snack and a few sodas during the day, our kids usually save up for their own souveniers separately. It would
really depend on which restaurants you plan on eating in. I would say
save as much as you possibly can, better to bring money home than not have enough.

It will be just me and me girl friend for 12 days & 13 nights! I would need money for food. A few items from each park. And that is basically all I will spend on if I can help it.

So for 2 people for 12 days... ?

It depends on what/where you will eat. It can go from about $50 for the both of you per day for counter service food to well over $150 and more if you prefer table service dining for all/most of your meals. If you are looking to save money on dining, buy breakfast foods and snacks at Publix or another nearby supermarket and keep them fresh in your room fridge (if you have one). There are also lots of cheapish chain restaurants off-property where you get a better bang for your buck (especially Bahama Breeze - my favorite).

Then there's always the Disney dining plan if you want a fixed budget to work with (or free dining if you book during the times it is offered).

hmmmm.... so do you think $500.00 'ot to do it it for 12 days. (Yes, I will eat cheap 98% of the time) and I would like to buy a few souvenirs from each park.

Well, here's an example:

Breakfast:
In hotel room, using stuff bought from supermarket: $5

Lunch:
Cheeseburgers w/fries + 2 large sodas at Electric Umbrella: $21

Dinner:
Shawarma platters in Tangierine Cafe + 2 sodas: $27

Total (without snacks, desserts, extra drinks or souvenirs): $56/day

This is about an average counter service day for two people. I think $700 for food is the minimum you should plan on, unless you are willing to dine at off-property McDonalds a lot.

How much money to bring? Bring all of it! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I know, not helpful, but it really can get expensive at WDW, and we never seem to have enough $$$ for the entire trip and end up using the plastique...

Food at WDW can be a little on the more expensive side.

If you just want to do Counter service for every meal then plan on $10 per person for each counter service.

If you want any sitdown restaurants it varies from 20 per person up to 35+ depending on if you want buffet or characters or what.

Also Souviners aren't cheap either, a nice fleece will run you about $55.

Are you on a package? You might want to think about the dining plan. For 37.99 per day per person, you can have a counter service meal, a sit down meal and a snack per night. That also includes tax and tip. That would be $456 per person and that isn't hard to do at all for meals.

From there just give yourself a budget on souviners.
