How much money should we take?

How much money do you have? ;) Seriously, I take around $200 cash. I charge everything that I can, and then spend down the cash at the end of the trip. Usually, you only need cash for the carts in the parks. I've heard that they may be accepting resort charges, now.

That's my 2 cents.

we are a family of 4 and normally budget about 150.00 a day

We're a family of four, and I honestly charge as much as I can to the room so that I don't have to carry cash. We stayed for a week last time, and I only took $100 in cash.

But, if you're trying to figure out how much you'll spend each day, I usually plan for $100 to $150 a day, depending on where we're planning to eat that day.

Check out the budget board..there are a few strands about budgets.

We are a family of 4 (2 boys 6 & 7) and have budgeted $250 per day. This will include food and souvenirs and extras.

Hope this helps.

I would recommend taking as little cash as possible and just charge anything you can. When you get the bill in then just pay it off. I would say just a few hundred to cover items that require cash. We take the point of view that cash cannot be replaced but a credit card can be overnighted to you.

Just got back -We took about $400 in cash and charged the rest to the room. I would say we spent an average of $250 a day.

Enjoy your trip!

LOL - my dh and I joke that we just take as much $$ as we can an then "ask the mouse how much fun can we have for this amount of $$"

In truth I don't take very much cash - a bit more than I think I will need for the trip down. This includes meals at the airport, onboard and on arrivial as well as tips for the towncar and bellman. After that I use my cc card on the room and charge most purchases with that. I do carry cash for quick purchases and carts that don't take the cc'd. Personally I would rather use cc'd and hit the atm every other day or so for quick cash. IMHO this reduces risk and with optimum convenience. You can cancell the cc's if need be and optimize your cash withdrawal for minimal fee.

I alway bring what I think I'll spend and then some- you just never know when you'll find the perfect souvenir :teeth:

I think we are planning to take around 1500.00 for 6 nights/7 days. We will take like 100 cash. That is for mousekeeping and the sliegh ride and tip, oh and for gas since we are renting a car. Oh don't forget if you are going to Fantasmic, that the carts for refreshments didn't take credit cards, so we will use it for that, other than that we will use our debit card.

We take several hundred dollars in cash/travelers checks.:earsboy: We like to shop:teeth:

I would recommend enough for incidentals for the first two to three days. Fast food. Snacks from the few places at WDW that don't take plastic. Coke machines. Gratuities.

Resupply with ATMs as needed.

And use plastic.

Save copies of everything in your wallet. One with you and one copy at home.

Traveler's checks are too much hassle for me and I would never bring a lot of cash -- too many posts here about money stolen even from Disney resorts.

You may want to consider that new Am Ex card that works like traveler's checks -- in a card. But I've not tried it.
