We (myself, DH, DD9 and DS11) will be at DisneyWorld February 28 - March 3rd (3 days... only 28 days in Feb) and on the 7 day Eastern Cruise March 4th-11th. Airfare, Hotel, Disney Dining Plan, Cruise and travel are all paid in full :cool1: My question is... on a budget of course ;) ~ how much can we get away with in extra money? What is a safe amount? We won't be doing much drinking on the ship... We also won't be doing much in terms of "active" excursions... DH has just finished chemo and radiation and his energy level is very low. The kids will be very happy enjoying the beaches/ocean. I know it's hard to estimate but can anyone take a stab at it for me? TIA!!!! :flower:

When we (me, FH, and DD 9) go to DW, I usually budget $100 a day with food in there as well. Since you're going with the dining plan, I'd say $50 a day for extras at the parks. On the cruise, we spent all of $250 on a 5 night this past summer - sodas, some pictures, a book, and childcare costs. Bring about $700 and you should be fine, IMHO

Did you still have a great time without doing all the extra's???

We ALWAYS have a good time at the park without spending too much money and we did no excursions on the cruise. It was our first cruise and we didn't know what to expect. We had a PHENOMENAL time. The ship provided shows and all kinds of entertainment all day long for free and at the ports we would get off and walk around. We bought a few small items here and there but nothing outrageous. The cruise is intended to be a relaxing vacation and it definitely was. The only thing to consider is your tips, but they should tell you how much those will be in advance.

Thanks so much for this info... very helpful!

gemjoy,
Just a quick question/statement. 2006 is not a leap year. 2004 and 2008 are leap years.....

thanks snsadams.... I meant only 28 days in Feb... not leap year ~ little brain cramp! :rotfl: First day back to work after vacation... :)

gemjoy,
My first day back too. Of course, that's why I'm looking at the boards......

We normally spend between $1200 - $2000 on the ship. But we drink so we spend quite a bit on that.
