Ok, I have a trip planned for mid Dec. I have not bought my tickets from Undercover T yet b/c there really is no reason too except now for the fact they may go up in cost. I am buying 5 day tickets no PH just basic tickets (this is our 2nd trip this year and the next won't be till 2013 doing the cruise next year and that was the deal)
How much do you think they will increase?
Right now though Mousesavers 5 or 6 day tickets are are 230.95 for adults and 198.95 for kids. There will be 2 adults and 1 child. DD#2 is two!!

I think this is correct
Increase
01/01/05 395 16
01/01/06 415 20
08/01/06 434 19
08/01/07 448 14
08/01/08 469 21
08/01/09 489 20

Is that number on the end per ticket ? I.e tickets went up $20.00 last year per ticket?

There is a comprehensive list of ticket price history at http://allears.net/tix/tickethistory.htm.

According to the site, the 5 day base ticket costs $228 plus tax this year. That same ticket cost $222 plus tax before the increase in 2009 ($6 increase) and cost $215 plus tax before the increase in 2008 ($7 increase). There was a $9 increase in 2007 and a $7 increase in 2006 for the same ticket you are looking at (5 day).

So, for the ticket you are looking for, the $6-9 range is probably what you are looking at for an increase, hopefully on the small end given the economic state.

On the high end, the 10 day PH WFM No Exp ticket increased $20 last year.

Are 5 day base tix upgradeable after you enter for the non expiration option? If so, how much is it? Looking at at prices, it looks like you pay the difference = about $80? We have a Dec trip planned and we're trying to figure this out this week as well....

Yes, they're upgradeable within 14 days of first use. You just pay the difference between the two tickets (in your case about $80 as you've already found out). The only thing to remember is that if you buy your tickets from a discount broker, like Undercover Tourist, that you need to use the ticket first to lock in the full face value before you upgrade.

So if I buy a 10 day park hopper ticket I can upgrade it for DVC annual passes? Do they look and say we bought it as July 2010 prices then charge for the upgrade or will they look at the prices for a 10 day hopper in Dec 2010 and we pay the difference for the upgrade then?

Do we use the tickets to get in the park and then upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

You can check out this thread for anything you ever wanted to know about tickets (and some things you probably didn't want to know) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684.

To directly answer your question though - you can upgrade your 10 day PH to DVC annual passes. If you use your passes first before upgrading, then it locks the price of the ticket as the price of a new ticket on that day. Then, you pay the difference after that. We did exactly that in January. We decided not to use our DVC points, but instead we booked a studio at SSR on the 4/3 deal. We got 7 day tickets for the price of 4 days as part of the package, used them at EPCOT, went to guest relations on the way out and upgraded the tickets to DVC Annual Passes.

Thanks this site helped me a lot. Found out I can also get tickets on the military base and pay no tax, we could never afford to goto WDW when hubby was active duty now that he is retired glad to see we can get some bene:)

I just wish I could get the DVC AP this way also. However beggars can not be choosy:)

My daughter and I are purchasing four day military passes for a long weekend. Does anyone know if they can be upgraded to a DVC AP?

Annual passes are the way to go. You save so much money and can easily go back for another vacation...
