Walmart has an Xbox 360 with 250g of memory on sale for $299, with a $75 gift card. My friend said that is a very good deal; but then I see that Sears has an Xbox 360 with 4gb for $199, so which is a better deal? THe Xbox will be a family gift and most likely we will not be doing the games with others (sorry, can't remember what that's called):happytv:

It depends what games you are playing.

Most games it will not make a difference, but there are some games that absolutely will not run without the bigger hard drive. No, contrary to popular belief, you can NOT use a memory stick or additional hard drive to with a couple games. It is a sort of glitch in the system.

I would get the one with more memory just to be safe.

I'm going to be a bit sexist BUT if you have a boy get the 360 with 250gb. Unless he is unusual he will need it for the games he is playing now or soon will be! (It also applies if you have a girl who plays a lot)

And if he doesn't play on line now give him a bit it won't be long! My DS 12 plays on line with kids from his class a lot.

I'm an adult female who doesn't play online (much, at least) and doesn't play most first person shooters and I currently have a 120gb hard drive in my 360 and I will be upgrading soon to the 250gb because I want the added space.

As others have said, it depends on the games you'll be playing. If you think you'll be buying things in the Marketplace, I would definitely recommend the larger hard drive. If you will be playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero, there are lots of songs available in the Marketplace and those can take quite a bit of space. There are lots of arcade games you can download, plus movies. You can also install some games on disk to the hard drive, which makes them run faster. And some "game of the year" editions have additional content (like new maps or quests) that is included with the disks you buy but can only be installed onto the 250gb system and not the 4gb system.

Get the one with the most memory. My 11 year old is the only one in the family that plays on the X Box. He plays online with his friends mainly. They enjoy buying things at the marketplace, and they spend hours creating maps, etc, that needs memory to be stored.

Yes, get the bigger one. That is a great deal!!

I got mine on Black Friday for $299 + $50 Gift Card & earned $30 in ToysRUs rewards. But I had to wait outside in the cold & rainfor 2 hours in line!
