just wondering what is the limit of luggage per person- with having formal & semi formal nights i am trying to not overpack but then you know there are always the shoes....:teeth:

thanks:sunny:

Sorry if this sounds stupid- but......Is there a weight limit and does a carry on qualify as a "checked" piece of luggage?

I don't think DCL has a weight limit for checked baggage, but most airlines do. I believe most airlines have a limit of 50 lbs per checked bag. If you're bag is over, they charge hefty fees, sometimes over $50 per bag. Keep that in mind if you're flying. And your carry-on luggage doesn't count towards your checked luggage, but it does need to fit through the metal detectors, so it has to be the same size as you'd carry-on an airplane.

Another tip would be to take an empty piece of luggage so you have room for gifts. We learned that lesson the hard way and had to purchase a piece of luggage at the gift shop on the ship.

Our TA always has told us DCL does not have a luggage amount limit per person. If somebody wanted to take three bags per person they could. The only limit was what an airline allowed per person. That usually is two checked bags per person and one carry-on.

We usually bring one bag per person then have one for our formal clothes. Usually there is also a checked small rollerboard type bag that is reserved for shoes. Do watch how heavy the checked bags are because the airlines are strict about the weight limit. With the newer limits we bring one more bag than what we did before.

Don't forget storage of empty bags during cruise: under the beds. Happy cruising. Kathy

In the back of our cruise docs from May it says "not to exceed 2 bags per person". The docs also say no coolers, but they seem to allow them on...
Maybe you can carry on as many as you want

Let's see, those rooms are roughly 180 sq ft with roughly 7.5 ft ceilings, so that's 1,350 cubic feet. Round down to an even 1,000 so you have room to sleep.

Now let's assume a typical carry-on bag is roughly 2 cubic feet, that would equate to about 500 bags stacked in the room.

At least if feels like my wife brings that much...

Hope that helps. :teeth:

Are you kidding me? I'm crazy for her! I was going to be a bachelor for life but she turned my head around there. And I'm a geek, she's a redhead, so we're a perfect match. :teeth:

But she does pack an awful lot of stuff.

25?? For how many people?? I took a pair of sneakers, a pair of dress sandals which I wore to every dinner, a pair of water shoes and a pair of flip flops. I wore the sneakers on the plane so only had to pack the sandals, water shoes and flip flops. My daughter wore sneakers, I packed sandals, water shoes and flip flops for her. All our shoes fit in the outer flap of my suitcase.
As far as the weight limit for airlines go I don't know what other airlines are but Jet Blue (the only airline I will fly) the weight limit is 70 pounds per bag.

According to Jet Blue's website their weight limit is 50 pounds.

I "think" ALL the airlines changed their domestic weight restrictions to 50 pounds on July 1 of this year.

From the Jet Blue website........
"Free Checked Baggage Allowance on Domestic Flights: As a fare-paying customer, JetBlue allows you to check up to three pieces of baggage, except for travel to and from Puerto Rico where the number of checked bags is limited to two pieces. The maximum weight is 70 pounds each. The maximum size is 62 inches (length plus width plus height) each. Excess baggage charges apply to additional pieces, overweight pieces and oversized pieces of baggage."

Not familiar with the commercial. I'm a geek, so much of my spare time is spent on the computer; not watching tv. :-)

My wife is a lot of fun. I, on the other hand, will talk to whilst looking at my shoes - if I talk at all!

My wife loves to tell the store of when we met. We went out to have a drink on our first date. A tv was behind her, so I focused on the tv and said very little while she talked. After a while, she came to my side of the table since I wasn't looking at her. She says I turned white from fear!

When we checked our bags at Pt. Everglades, the guy taking the bags took the really havy one and said, "Oh man, this one must have the shoes!"

MJ, what a great photo! Now, that's a lot of shoes! I hope the girls had a ball!
