I'm hope I'm not being to personal ladies, but I'm just curious. How much did you or are you spending on your wedding. If you don't want to put numbers in a post then answer on the poll please, thanks. :thumbsup2

Denise

We are an intimate and with the WP, officiant, photographer, videographer, extra flowers, transportation, dress, tux, our honeymoon and rooms for our parents, grandparents, and siblings the grand total has come to just a tad over $10,000 but that is really a lot of stuff! I think its a bargain :thumbsup2

I answered the poll, but now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have. Do you mean wedding in general or a Disney wedding? I am getting married on June 3rd, but not at Disney...

I am having an intimate, but it is really the price of a small custom when you add in hotel, dress, airfare, transportation, wedding rings, etc. The price for all things on the wedding day is about 7k.

That is tough- My Min is 15, but that is only Disney stuff I am doing outside photography and some flowers on my own, but we are also having 2 other events at Disney, my gown, shoes, invitations....what else.... home reception. Gosh I do not want to think about it. I am lucky however, my dad is paying the min for the wedding plus tax and fees, my grandma gave me some money for my gown.....so I am being helped tremendously, I also have a fariy godmother out there.

Yup we went over that $20K mark for 45 people and that was before the dress, honeymoon, rings etc

That said I reckon I could almost do that same wedding now but for less money, just by cutting a few corners, but at the time I sooo didn't care :cloud9:

Although my wedding isnt untill december so far with the disney minimum, outside photography + videography, officiant, hair and make up , my dress, bridesmaids outfit, grooms outfit + outfits for wedding party (we are renting tuxedos for both fathers, best man and usher) a welcome party + one other event. Rings and honeymoon i am looking at around that $20k mark. I am hoping to keep it just under that but its too early to tell lol.

Anyway my excuse is that the exchange rate is in my favour and if i got married near where my family are from (outskirts of london) i would be spending even more lol.

There are loads of places where i can save money but im not worrying about that untill after my planning visit in may!

I'm spending about $14,000 through Disney (including fantasmic dessert party, limo and chartered bus, flowers, guitar and flute duo for ceremony, DJ for reception, brunch buffet for 48 guests, Mickey & Minnie, etc)

and 2,000 for photography, and 2,000 for videography.

Then there's the $650 for dress + $300 for alterations + 300 or so in accessories... Then there's the honeymoon itself... then there's the billion and one little things like bridal party gifts.. favors.. cake topper, guest books, toasting flutes, cake cutter and server.. the list goes on and on...

All this from me, who always said she'd never have a big-to-do wedding.. Where's that fainting smilie at? ahh there it is :faint:

Coming in at a whopping $900, me as a full time college student. Okay, I cut some major corners, but I absolutely loved my wedding. And for the record, I had 200+ guests, many of whom were involved in the wedding's creation and cost cutting. :teeth:

Were just in the early planning stages but we have a budget of 20K also.

As laura said being Uk brides works in our favour with the exchange rate.
20k would be around 111/2k (as checked this morning). Most weddings around here are easily 15 -16k GPB, so not only do we have our dream DFTW but also save money yayyy :goodvibes

Also if I were to have a NY wedding I would have to invite a bunch of people that I wouldn't want there and I would spend ALOT more. Dwayne's family is all from TX & mine is from all over the Northeast. It's much easier for us to meet in a centralized location that is tourist friendly. Most of my guests are making a trip out of it. Besides where else can you have Mickey?

We had an Intimate and the Disney portion, counting the room nights, extra floral, custom cake, beverages, and favors was under $4k (we stayed at WL). Once you add in the cost of DH's suit and accessories, my tiara and jewelry, we paid for my father's hotel (2 nights at WL), brunch the next day, MOH's dress and accessories, the honeymoon cruise and money spent at Disney and on the cruise, making and mailing the marriage announcements, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some "little things," it was about $7k. We had budgeted $10k so I was very glad we went under, that meant more money to spend on stuff for our just-purchased house :goodvibes

I can honestly say that I had the PERFECT wedding, no matter the cost!

I haven't addeded EVERYTHING up...

But I'm including all of it...air fare, clothes, rings, announcements, film developing, food (while at Disney), wedding package, souvenirs, kennelling our three dogs...all said and done I would say about $7000...but remember, we had no guests...just DH and me. :)

Well we were supposed to be at $15K... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: yeah right...so it's gone to 20K and we are hoping that it won't be more than a weensy bit over that...it's tough b/c I want my wedding to be fantastic...my bratty cousin Nick is getting married in July and his mom always thought they were so much better than us...the "divorced" children...and I want to wow them all with some East Coast style and I've got the money to do it...(is that awful? I'm not having my wedding for them, but at the same time I still feel like the girl who wore her sisters hand me downs while her cousin's never knew the meaning of "hand me down" they used to laugh at my clothes.."didn't your SISTER wear that last year? That isn't in style any more" JERKS oh well, I still made all American four years running and while they tried they never could SO THERE...*ahem* moving right along)...so between the photographer, the videographer, the DJ, the String Quartet, the Vineyard, the caterer, the flowers,my dress, his tux, his kids dress/tux, the cake...good lord, my shoes! The hotel, gifts for wedding party and each other...AND a WDW honeymoon/cruise to St.Thomas...I think we've done well! OH and the Build-a-bear Bride and Groom bears we are using to bribe the kids down the aisle without fighting or pinching each other...we've done okay.

His first wedding was $50K!!!! Just goes to show ya...had we stayed in Jersey to get married we'd have probably paid as much if not more cuz he got married 10 years ago!

man, this is depressing...I'll just think about my Disney honeymoon!!! :wizard: princess:

We spent well over $20,000.

Although our custom vow renewal is in May 2007, we have estimated the costs will be just under $30K. I have, already, brought the gowns, shoes, hairpieces (tiara's and hairpins) and jewelry for my maid of honor, flowergirl and myself. We are going to pay for our honeymoon and villa's for our bridal party, this summer. We were going to stay BW or BC Concierge, but found that it costs less for us book a 2BR Vill at BCV for 14 nights. We are only paying for a studio for 3 nights for our maid of honor and flowergirl (mother and daughter, so this is easy) and our best man (although he insists on paying his own way, I  my BIL). Our parents have said they will pay their own way because we are paying for our entire wedding, the welcome dinner we are hosting the day before and the thank you brunch the day after, ourselves (my parents have paid for 3 weddings, so this was a relief for them). Plus, we are, already married but since we didn't have much more than an "I do" ceremony for less than 10 minutes in my parents home, with none of his family we said that day, that after our 5th anniversary we would have our dream wedding :bride: :groom: We covered our first wedding, which wasn't much more than $200 (including dinner), plus we didn't have a honeymoon. So, after 5 years, it just wasn't fair to expect our parents to pay for or share the expenses of our wedding.

Jacque

The budget my parents gave us is 20K. That's for about 75 guests. It doesn't include rooms, park tickets, food or anything like that and also doesn't include the honeymoon, which we are paying for ourselves. His parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner and maybe a few other things here and there. So if we go too much over 20K, it'll be out of our pockets. Eek! Hope we can manage to stay close to that!

Wow, after reading these...I don't feel so bad :) The first time around "way too young..just turned 20" just my opinion now that I look back..we did the Disney intimate and w/reception back home in OH we still came in under 10k not including rings of coarse, but this time since it's the 2nd for both of us...we're not going crazy. He's getting ready to retire from military and I want to start school to be a nurse practitioner...so,we're getting married on the beach. W/flowers and professional photographer it's still only going to be about 1k for wedding and about 4k for Disney honeymoon... not too bad... :cheer2: and congrats to all of you w/upcoming weddings!! :bride: :groom:
