I have searched the Disney site and can't find this info. It says that annual passholders get it for a discount at $75 but I thought it was only available to AP so what's the deal? We will be at BCV next week and we are going to purchase our first TIW card. Info please. :confused3

We just got one this year with our AP's. just being DVC doesn't get a TIW card. Although i wish we could cause i would always use it and this will be the only year we have an AP for several more years to come.

Hopefully they will consider this a perk for DVC in the future in being able to get a TIW without an AP. (wishful thinking on my part)

TIW is $75 for AP holders and $100 for Florida residents. No one else is eligible to buy TIW at this time. You can purchase it at any guest services desk at the parks or DTD and you'll need photo ID plus your AP (or they'll have to look up the AP). You can get a secondary card for an AP holder in your family for $50. If you lose a card, it is $50 to replace.

Yes, $75 for AP holders is b/c that is a discounted rate compared to the Fl residents. As far as i know the only way to get it is to be AP holder or FL resident. Nothing for DVC unfortunately.

As others have said, TiW is only available to AP holders or Florida residents. If a lot of DVCers are interested in it being available by virtue of DVC Membership, it wouldn't hurt to contact member satisfaction and let them know that it is a perk that would be beneficial. If they do make it available to DVC in the future, I would assume it would be at the FL resident price (or slightly higher) and they would keep the discounted price for the AP holders.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if there was a different price for DVC members versus AP. We have gotten the DDP in the past so it will be interesting to try it and see which works best for us. I think the TIW will be much less restrictive but I can see myself looking at all the prices and going:eek::eek:

We love the TIW card. That's part of why we've changed our vacationing habit to make three (3) visits to WDW in a twelve (12) month period. For that time period we purchase both Annual Passes (discounted for DVC members) and the TIW Card (because we now have Annual Passes)! :cool1:

After the third trip, we vacation in other locales for the next year-and-a-half to two years. Our trip in October will be our first visit back to 'the World' since July 2008. (Although we have visited Disneyland and Disneyland Paris since then.)

Quick sorta related TIW question (sorry for the hijak)... When is the best time to purchase a TIW card? We'll be going down in a few weeks and had plans on getting a TIW card. Should we just wait until we get to WDW to do this and if so where can we get the TIW card?

TIA!!!

It is good for 1 year (actually I think a bit longer), starting on date of purchase...not on date of first use, so, depending on your travel plans, buy it on the last possible day.

You can buy it at Guest Services at each of the Parks, plus you can buy it at Guest Services at DTD. You cannot buy it at the resorts.

We are making 3 trips to WDW in a year and this card is great for us since it includes adult drinks whereas DDP does not.

This is true - it's good for 13 months or so. I got my most recent one on 3/21/10 I think and it expires on 4/30/11. I believe if you buy it after the 15th, the expiration by default is the last day of the 13th month. I've never bought one prior to the 15th, so I don't know if the expiration date fluctuates based on when you buy it. (i.e., if you buy it on the 3rd of a month, is your expiration date still last day of the 13th month or is it the 15th?)

Thanks so much! Good to know that we can buy it at GS at DTD. We'll be staying at LBVP on the Friday that we get there and then heading to BLT on Saturday, would love to have it ready for use on that Saturday.
