How much is the holiday surcharge?

I've seen people say anything from $2 to $6 per person for the holiday surcharge. For our family of 5 that could be an extra $10 or $30 per meal at many of the places I have ADR's for. Trying to find out exactly what the charge is... does anyone know?

That's a great question. I would like to add on to your question if that's okay? Which days are considered holidays? Does Disney include Mother's Day as a holiday?

Not sure, we always do the dining plan so we are not effected by the surcharge.

I don't believe that Mother's Day is considered a holiday. I was told this morning by a CM that the surcharge starts Memorial Day weekend and continues through July 11.

Does anyone know when the holiday surcharges will be for the Christmas season? They started on the 16th last year, but I don't know whether to guess that for this year or go by the day of that week (a Tues.) Any clues?

When we were there in Dec. the holiday surcharge raised our buffet meals about 5$pp. This surcharge makes getting the food plan an even better deal IMO.

From all ears. net "surcharge for buffet and character meals around the World is returning, as previously announced. Prices for meals during these dates will be several dollars more per person than at other times of the year. The dates affected are April 5 - April 18, 2009, and May 24 - July 11, 2009. For example, at the Magic Kingdom's Crystal Palace, prices will be as follows:

Breakfast: $22.99/Guest (10 and older)--$12.99/Guest (3-9) (regularly $18.99/$10.99)
Lunch: $24.99/Guest (10 and older)--$13.99/Guest (3-9) (regularly $20.99/$11.99)
Dinner: $34.99/Guest (10 and older)--$16.99 Guest (3-9) (regularly $28.99/$13.99)

The full amount of the increase is not the same in all restaurants. It is from $4-6 per person for adults and $2-3 for children.

All of our ADR's are for dinner... which looks to be around $6 per person extra. I'm definitely going to come out ahead with the DDP.
