We are sailing b2b on the upcoming 5/8 Hawaii to Vancouver & the 5/18 Alaska cruise. We are in the "lose your deposit" phase for cancelling (which we are seriously thinking about). Our Hawaii cruise deposit was the standard 20% and the Alaska cruise was a moved OBB deposit of 10%. I honestly don't remember if we initially put more money down (especially on the moved OBB since the cruise we were moving was more expensive than the Alaska cruise & we just moved all of it over). Would we lose the 20% and 10% or would we lose what we actually put down?

I wondered this too. We are too late for this (now in this 50% penalty) but our deposit was only $520 because we booked during the 10% deposit sale. I would have gladly given up our deposit had I known how the penalties worked at the time. Instead I thought once PIF passed you were stuck. My fault for not being informed.

You would lose the amount of the required deposit (so the 20% and 10%), not the amount you actually paid at the time you paid the deposit (if you paid more than the required deposit).

We're also on the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise. I thought there may be cancellations but we are still going if the cruise is still going. I figure there's still a lot that can happen between now and cruise time.

This was discussed here a week or so ago. A poster stated that she just lost the 10% deposit that she paid while booking onboard a Disney ship.

We are in the same boat - we have 2 cabins booked on the 5/16 fantasy cruise. Our deposit is close to $1000. I really don’t want to lose it, but will if Disney doesn’t offer up any better solutions between now and my cancellation deadline.

Thank you. My only problem with waiting - and I agree so much can happen between now and then - is there is so much difference between losing the deposit and losing 50% of both cruises. I don't have a lot of faith in DCL either cancelling the cruise or allowing last minute cancellations. Getting even more worried now after reading about the Princess cruise that visited all the Hawaiian islands that subsequently had a coronavirus victim on board. Also concerned with our 10 hr. flight to Honolulu and our return flight from Seattle (where we are spending 8 hrs hanging around Seatac waiting for our 10:45 flight).

The deposit you lose is either 10 or 20 percent depending on what you paid. That’s one reason reduced deposits are so popular in the cruise industry.

Below is a copy of the current DCL cancellation fee schedule my TA sent me earlier today:
