How much hassle to add PH to our tickets?

Hi all,
I’m thinking of adding hoppers to our 3 day trip, currently 1 park/day

We will be visiting May 11, 12, 13. I just realized w DL closing early for the Star Wars party (and potential for extra SW crowds on surrounding days too), it might be a really good idea to add parkhoppers to our tickets. Don’t want to end at 8pm on May 11!

I called to ask about it today and the CM said I could do it by phone, we’re on a tight budget so decided to think it over. But then I look in this forum and everyone says you can only add hoppers if hopper reservations are still available. Reservations are sold out for two of our dates already. Did CM make a mistake? Has anyone successfully done this at the gate?

You loose your reservations since they are a dif type of ticket. Maybe the CM was gonna sprinkle some pixie dust for you

If you call 3 times you’ll get 3 different answers. CMs aren’t as well trained/informed as they used to be.

If there are reservations available for the new ticket type some make the updated reservations automatically. If there aren’t they sometimes warn you, sometimes they don’t.

I added over the phone and the CM made the process painless. However, there were reservations available.
