I've got about 16-20 inches. 3 kids (about 16-19 years old) took them about an hour to clear my driveway, walk path, and sidewalk. They had a snow blower, but still had to shovel as well. Thought?

I'd give them at least $15-$20 each ($20-$25 each if it was their snowblower). That's a whole lot of snow.

I have 18+ inches here and it is still coming down. I've give them $100 if they could come dig my car out and do the walkway. :) So, I guess my answer is $30-35 each.

My parents paid a guy $50 today for their largish driveway w/4 cars in it. I'd have given the guy $50 too since I didn't have to go over there and do it for them.

My son got $50.00 from a neighbor. We are in Virginia too. He cleared their driveway once at 10 AM, then again at 3 PM. Now the neighbor is out clearing the cars and driveway again.

When we got a similiar snowstorm a couple weeks ago, DS helped a neighbor shovel his (very short) sidewalk. Neighbor gave DS $20 and both DH and I said that's too much.

So when it snowed again a couple days later, we sent DS over to help for free. :lmao:

I'd do at least $20-$25 each...depends on how much you like them.

Did you ask them to do it? Maybe they were just being neighborly. Sometimes it is nice to just give service to other people and get nothing in return. It makes your heart feel good.

If you really want to give them something, maybe give them a gift card to a restaurant where they can all go out together or something. Even bake them something like we used to do when we were kids. They don't have to get anything to feel appreciated. We need to teach our kids more about giving to others just because it is the right thing to do. Just a thought.

For my kids I consider it room and board. j/k lol

I would give between 15-20 bucks each.

The question should be how much would it cost to have a guy with a snowplow come and clear it out once. That is the amount to pay people shoveling by hand or machine regardless of the number of persons involved. You might bump it up if they have to chip through a 4 deep X 4 foot wide snow bank from the town snowplow or a snow and ice combination.

Let me add that if you pay them too cheaply there is a lot of winter left for them to pass on shoveling your snow for you.

I had a kid come over and offered to shovel for $10. My property isn't that big. My DH thought I overpaid. But at least he didn't have to go out and shovel, so he should be grateful!
