Ok I am a complete disney "know it all" as far as vacations go...however...this one has me confused. We purchased a 7 day base ticket from undercover tourist. We definitely won't be using all 7 days since we are (gasp) going to universal also. If we decide to add the no expiration option on to the base tickets...how much does it cost.

I've always done packages in the past and just added tickets into the package so this is all new to me. So I've come to my fellow dis'ers for the correct answer since reading these boards is what made me a disney know it all. lol

Remember that you must pay for the number of days on the ENTIRE TICKET, even if you
have already used many or most of them.

It is usually a very BAD idea (financially) to add non-expiration to a ticket with only a couple of days remaining.
Unless your next trip can be fully covered by the number of days remaining on a non-expiring ticket, it
is not a good idea to do the upgrade.

If you have, say, 2 days "left" non-expiring from the last trip, but need, say 3 or 4 days to complete the next trip, that situation can cost you a LOT of extra money.
(You paid a lot for the non-expiring from the last trip, and you will then still have to pay full price for the one or two NEW days' tickets that you buy.)

Important:
Days #5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 on a MYW ticket (BASE) only cost $3 each... just let 'em expire and save money.

DW and I had a 4 day ticket on our last trip.
We only used 3 days. We knew we were going to return soooo, I upgraded to 10 day non expire tickets for, I think it was about $200 per ticket. this was less than it would have cost for tickets on the next trip. Also I now feel like I dont have to go to the parks every day of our trip and use our expiring tickets.... We leave in 2 weeks and we each have 7 days left on our ticket. If the weathers nice we may add the water park option for $54 (???) and spend a couple days at the water parks. this should leave me with at least 2-3 days left on the park tickets. Next trip that will leave me with a couple of days at the parks, a couple of days at water parks and a chance to do some things off site which we usually dont do because we HAVE to use our non expiring tickets...

IMHO

Less than good news, Poprivet - you can't upgrade/change your tickets more than fourteen days after the first time you used them :(

But the rest of your post demonstrates an instance where upgrading your ticket - both the number of days and the non-expiring feature - DOES make sense.

In your specific case it is too late to add the water park fun. Tickets used more than 13 days ago may no longer be upgraded.
