Ok, all this talk on the credit card thread about onboard credit and expenses is making me nervous. How much did each of you spend? We'll be on the 4 night cruise, so hopefully it won't be as much as the 7 nighters.

We'll have a couple drinks each day but also take some along for the stateroom. Kids don't drink soda anyway. I'm sure we will allow the kids some souveneirs.

Our bill for the 7 day we just took was about $450. That included a soda card, a drink or 2 and lots of stuff from the shops. DD is a pinaholic. There were 3 of us.

It did not include our tips.

For the 3 night, our family of 5 spent $800 on extras. Of that, $362 was on pre-planned excursions, so no surprises there. The rest was broken down into $90 for photo's from Shutters, $60 at Palo ($40 sitting fee plus additional tip), $200 for drinks (including smoothies, 2 bottles of wine), $40 for unlimited internet service, $15 soda sticker for teenage son. On board, we bought only about $40 worth of souveniers and the kids used cash when they went into Nassau.

I used cash for the tips and had them set aside in pre-marked envelopes in the room safe.

hmmmm, how much you spend will depend on the individuals going. Really the biggest expense is the tipping. Unless of course you drink alot and then the bar tab could quickly eclipse the tip expense. Next, it depends on how much you will spend in shutters for pictures. We bought a pic package for $120(???), but you could easily spend more then that. And excursions must also be taken into account. I have heard of final totals being any where from a couple hundred to over $2000, so it really depends on you.

The boards provide more then enough info for you to bugget out the trip if you are really concerned.

You could get the prices for drinks ie most mixed drinks are around $4. If not soda package, the sodas are like $2 (when not in the dinning rooms). Then figure your tips and photos and you should have a ball park.

For our 4 night sailing in 2003 it was @ 750. For our 7 night one in May it was 1352. DW, DS6 and myself. - Mike

bring your own drinks,like beer,rum,votka,juice etc.you will save tons of money.for our 7 days we spend 455 $,for everything.for 4 of us.

Our tab ended up being about $750, including tips. We spent more than we thought on drinks and of course, I bought half of the souveniers in the ship store. No regrets though! ::yes::

Budget for: Tips, any professional photos you may wish to purchase, drinks, Bingo(if you fancy spending an expensive hour!), trips, any Cruiseline souveniers (remember you cant get the majority of these anywhere else). The shops on the ship are VERY expensive and not very comprehensive. Think of a number and DOUBLE IT (at least)! Whatever you do - FORGET the expense, its MAGICAL/WONDERFUL! Nat:Pinkbounc

::MickeyMo There are two of us. We've been on 15 cruises and we almost always average $100/day. ::MinnieMo

are you sitting down? I sure needed to when I read our bill. We spent $1000 on our recent 4 night. It included tips, a photo package, dinner and brunch at Palos, souveniers, a couple rounds of bingo (OUCH!), and drinks, including the wine package.

Fortunately, we had nearly $500 in rewards from our disney visa and some disney dollars from bdays and Christmas.

It adds up fast!

Combine ships charges (including three DCL excurions) and tips and the four of us spent $1,500.

Buy you gotta know my wife......

On all three of our trips the bill has always been considerably more than we planned. It's just too darn easy to use that KTTW card!

Well lets see, a excursion in each port, came to about $1000, tips around $250, plenty of drinks, lots of little souvenirs, some calling card tips, I would say close to $2000. We went the way we wanted to go for our first really BIG vacation. We just spent what we wanted. The total for that cruise was around $6000 total because we went spring break it was real expensive. Our next cruise is half the price right off the bat. And I don't see alot of excursions we would want to do, probably with hang out more on the boat and maybe shop in ports a little. It will not even cost us half as much as before i'm sure.

We spent $500 on our 3 day cruise last year and that didn't include tips. We have $1500 saved for our November 7 day cruise, and we plan on having the tips pre-enveloped and ready to hand out. We also plan to purchase phone cards to give as extra tips for fantastic service.

We really were not surprised when all was tallied for our 7 night cruise, It was pretty much what we spend when we go to the world and stay. Picture packages, souvenirs for family members was probably the biggest expense, DH played BINGO EVERY day! We bought each of the kids a couple 20.00 game cards for the arcade, CC we did a couple excursions. Oh DH did buy a bottle of wine at Palo one night.
DH paid on our account every night so we owed nothing at the end of the cruise. But our total for the 7 night was right at 2,000.

Ours was about $1200 for the 4 night for 5 of us, not including tips. Wow, were we amazed! But we both got massages, DH bought product at the spa (he thought she said $14 but she had an accent and it was $40) we tried a drink every day, we all went to Blue lagoon beach day, bought souvenirs, bought 13 pins, a photo package, snacks when we went to the movie (despite my protests), beaded DD#1's hair, bought a soda mug...I'd say the biggest expenses were the massages and the excursions. Now this time I have about $1300 ready for the 7 day, but we have booked our own excursions and DH has no interest in the spa. So we'll see what happens--we have our Disney Visa if it goes over the limit.

I think it will vary quite a bit based on excursions, whether you are big drinkers, if you buy photos--my downfall, bingo-way too easy to spend a lot there. Using the KTTW card seems like you aren't really spending til you check your bill. Also spa treatments are expensive if you go there. The gift shops are typical disney pricing. Luckily my older son saw nothing he wanted there--picked up a few things on the islands, but 7 year old made quite a few buys. I believe for 4 of us we spent around $1000 on a seven day--w/out tips-that was photos and more photos, husband's bar bill, son's smoothies and gifts, plus 1 spa treatment.

My parent's, on the other hand spent very little-so it is up to you. No spa or drinks for them and only souveniers for grandchildren.

Enjoy yourself!!

what with tips, banana boat, parasailing, massages and drinks for the 4 of us...oh...plus pictures, souvenirs, internet, ....
not to mention palo's...

should be a rather sizeable amount...

I spent a small fortune last year, and I still wince when I think about it. Shutters was a killer!! I really overdid it there! Next year, I have a plan. I am going to invest in a good camera. Shutters I'll use for the formal pictures, or particulary special moments, like DD with Cinderella!

Also-souveniers-Mickey's Mates and the other store onboard made some decent money off me. That is all changing.

We'll see!
Maybe I should book a three day real soon, so I can practise!
