I've seen posts about people packing lighter and planning to do laundry while there. That sounds good to me. I haven't done pay laundry since 1988. How much does it cost to wash & dry a load? We're planning to stay at Carribean Resort.

Thanks!

$2 for washer
$2 for dryer

each runs for 30 minutes

$1 for detergent (1 load)
$1 for dryer sheet (1 load)

bring your own detergent/stuff. Much cheaper.

I had to dry everything twice because one time didn't cut it. So, unless you plan on doing very small loads (mine were not huge loads, either) you might want to keep that in mind.

You might also want to stop at a store and buy laudry soap. When we were at CBR several years ago (so things may be different now) they only had Tide, and I am allergic to that brand. Also, it's a lot cheaper to buy it elsewhere.

I had to dry my stuff twice too. I did two loads at a time and when it didn't dry the first time around I just loaded everything into one drier to save the $1. As the other poster said don't try to run large loads.

I buy detergent right there in the laundry room but, bring a few fabric softener sheets, they make the suitcase smell nice. I brought $10 in quarters for a one week stay and ended up needing a bit more change can't remember if there is a change machine or if I went to the front desk. But, I did several loads of laundry as my youngest son threw up on his security blanket...twice.

We like to pack light and do laundry there because, we just don't have enough clothes to wear two sets a day for 8 days, not to mention all the lugging and having a mountain of dirty laundry when you get home. We tour during the day then come back to the resort and clean up/relax before going out for dinner. We usually do one light load and one dark load on about day three then one more load of just odds and ends on day 5 or 6. This just barely gets us through. Do look at your watch so you are there right on time to get the stuff in the drier or to avoid wrinkling of clothes just sitting there. If we are not at the pool during laundry time, I ususally take it down, then DH throws it in the drier then I come back and fold it and take it back up to the room.

i had to do mine 3 times- i did complain to the front desk and they refunded me the difference- They are awful dryers. I only had a med sized load.

Weird... I've never had a problem with drying anything. Sometimes, I have to stop it before the 30 minutes because my clothes were too dry and it was getting too hot!
