Made the decision to purchase 10 day no expiry tickets from Ticketmania. Now I'm thinking I should have added park hopping as we may want to go to extra magic hour at night. If I add park hopping to a discounted ticket does anyone know how much it will cost... thanks!

Hopping itself, added after ticket purchase, is now $40. plus tax.

On tickets purchased from some non-Disney sources, you also have to pay the difference between gate price of what you bought, and the amount the wholesaler paid Disney for the ticket. This latter effect can cancel out any advance purchase discount you got.

Ask how much it costs first with a per-ticket breakdown especially if you are working with a bunch of child and adult tickets together. You may decline to actually do it instantly and step out of line to think about it.

You will only pay the $40 + tax to add the hopping regardless of where you initially purchased your ticket.

How does this work? How would Disney know how much you paid for the ticket? I thought you only paid the difference in gate prices between the pass you have and the pass you want (in this case, $40 per ticket).

The cost is coded to the ticket. It's in their database that tickets sold to wholesalers WERE in fact sold to a wholesaler, and how much Disney sold it to that wholesaler for.
