How much do you tip Mousekeeping?

We do not tip Mousekeeping, but we are are DVC members who do not have Mousekeeping in while we are there (even our 10 day stays). We keep the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door for our entire trip.

$5 per day. There's 4 of us and we are pretty neat.

Us too... I always made my girls clean up their things before we left the room so for the 4 of us I left $5 a day on the pillow. We always enjoyed the towel arrangements and goodies left by mousekeeping. When we stayed in DVC last time we had mousekeeping on day 4 of a 6 day trip and I left $10 that day. I know some people only tip on the last day but as op pointed out there are different mousekeepers each day and we always came back to spotless rooms.

If you ask Disney, they will tell you that housekeeping is not considered, by Disney, to be a tipped position. They are paid a 'decent' wage...based on how long they've been there. Many will say these CMs don't make a living wage. But a lot of people make the same wage, with no tips!
Ok. Having put that out there....when I tip, I tip $1 pp, each day. BUT....I expect something more than fresh towels and toiletries. I make beds before leaving. I seldom get service that is above and beyond.
Are there guests that leave miserable messes? Absolutely. But, it's not my job to 'make up' for their piggieness!
I've actually started putting the 'privacy please' hanger on the door before leaving for the day.

I do $5 a day for the four of us (we leave things in good order). Before I leave for our trips, I pack envelopes and the exact change so I don't have an odd day and realize I don't have the right amount of money. One less thing to deal with in the morning when we're trying to rush out to the parks.

We are tipping $10 per day - we will be tipping $100 total - they have a very un-fun job - and its worth it to us :)
That's how I feel about it too. I also can't imagine they get paid overly well excluding tips.

We are a family of 6 and always get adjoining rooms. We tip $5 per room per day. My DD12 decorates envelopes and we tape them to the mirrors. We keep the rooms very tidy ourselves but we do appreciate any service they provide.

$1-$2 dollars per person per day. ($2 if I ask for something extra like more than the usual towels or extra coffee/cups). You might have different housekeepers so saving it till the end doesn't always work.

If I'm solo I actually request them to skip my room and just leave me a bag of towels every other day. I'm not that messy and I'd rather not have them in the room if I don't need them. I don't tip if I don't use housekeeping.

I make enough to spread a little pixie dust to someone who has to pick up my dirty towels or clean my toilet.

We always tip $1 per person, per day.. Last year I was in a room solo so I left $3 each morning on the dresser before heading out for the day. We had the same housekeeper all week, but I like to leave it each day just in case it is someone different. This year I will be in a room solo again, but the mousekeeping at Port Orleans has always been so wonderful, I plan on leaving $5 each day.

If I remember to leave a tip ( so many times I forget!) I leave $3-5, based on how much cash I have(there are 3 of us). But honestly, we leave up the Do Not Disturb sign unless we need something (more towels, more coffee, etc). We don't like having a housekeeper in our room everyday.

I agree with White Rose. We have done $5 a day in the past, with a bigger tip on our check-out day. Also, we bring in food while at OKW, and we leave any unopened cereal, snacks, coffee and drinks on the counter along with laundry detergent for them to take home (we throw out any opened food/perishable food).

whenever we stay at a hotel we have the 'do not disturb' sign up, usually until the end of the trip. At the end of our trip I leave $20 (we are 4 people), on the one occasion we needed cleaning mid-trip, I left $20 with a note saying thank you.

I leave whatever change i have left over. $1-2 typically.

Mainly due to the fact i don't carry much cash at DIS, but do bring a few bucks spending money for pins and what not. I'm usually a solo traveler and don't leave a mess. To clean up after me it's making my bed and replenishing towels thats it.

Generally about $5.00 a day....we printed Mousekeeping envelopes, filled them and have them ready to go for our trip! I've heard you can also leave "goodies" for them but what will they keep and what will they throw away?
