How much do you tip a taxi cab driver?

Silly question but I never take cabs.

10-20% of the fare, plus $1 for each bag they load/unload.

We also follow the $1 per bag rule plus 20% of the total fare. If he/she is an exceptional driver with a clean vehicle, we'll tip more than 20%. I'm sure you'll get very diverse opinions on this topic.

For me, tips depend on the weather and how heavy my bags are. Also traffic jams can increase the fare and beware of drivers that take a roundabout route to increase the fare, not just to avoid traffic. My experience: Las Vegas, NYC and Chicago.
