Cashiers at Home Depot / Lowes?

Cashiers at Michael's craft store / AC Moore craft store?
How about working the floor stocking & stuff?

Cashier at Staples?
Copy Center worker at Staples?

Or working cash office at any of those jobs.

Minimum wage or anything above minimum wage?

Probably slightly over minimum wage for most of them, depending on the area and the quantity of labor available. :)

A co-worker of mine worked at Home Depot a few years ago, and was paid - pretty well - for it.

She said they asked "why do you think you're worth to our company?" and she said - $12 or so an hour....and thats what she got.

I would guess minimum wage -- maybe SLIGHTLY higher. Probably only .05 or .10 raises.

min wage arounf here that would be like 8 or 8.50 a hour
Isn't minimum wage country wide? I thought it was like $5.15 -- did it go up?

I would guess around $8 an hour. Just a guess. Who really makes $5.15 an hour? I see fast food joints all over advertising $8/hour. I would think those would be the lowest paying jobs.

What kind of job was that? Did they work sales on the floor? Or stocking?

If it's in San Francisco probably 10 or 11 an hour. I think it varies where you live and what your cost of living is.

I'd be lying if I told you which it was- Im not 100% sure.

Home Depot is a *very* good company to work for, with stock options, 401K, promotions, etc.

Minimum wage varies by state. Here it is somewhere around $7.25.

Probably more than me :( . I only stay at the airline I work for because it has great health benefits and the flights.

I'd say at least 9.00 an hour around here. I know McDonalds starts at 8 around here so I would think it would be a bit higher than that.

Unless the store isn't doing as well as expected. Then they put everybody on less than 40 hours a week schedules so they aren't guaranteed their hours or their wages.

I have a friend who works part time at Lowe's, but he's "on the floor" in the home furnishings department. He makes $14 per hour PLUS a small commission!

I work for Home Depot in NC and make really nice money I am a cashier and I work on Saturdays and Sundays only, and have lots of benefits.

I think Minimum Wage is like $5.75 here and I am well over that ....

A co-worker of mine applied for a job at Home Depot b/c she's not getting enough hours at work right now. She said that HD STARTS at $10!!!

I don't know what position she applied for, but if I were her and they offered me the job I would take it for sure!

Head Cashiers at Lowe's make between 12.00- 13.00 an hour here. Cashiers make 8-10.00 an hour. Lowe's is actually a good company to work for.

I know the cash office at michaels isnt much.. I think my friend made around $8.00. But they were early morning hours.. like 6-10.

Do you have a Costco near you? They do pay there employees good.

Min. wage is set by the federal gov't, I believe at $5.25/hr and it is $2.13 for tipped employees (restaurant servers). Then states and cities can enact laws to raise it, but not lower it.
