How much do you spend on your child's sneakers?

I just bought sneakers for my three children 9, 7, and 1. Total bill was $120.00 I take them to a children's shoe store where a knowledgable salesperson measures and fits their shoes. Two of my children are hard to fit. I learned my lesson after trying to fit them myself.

I know it's ridiculous but I used to work in footwear, right now my two favorite pairs are my New Balance 991 ($109.99) and a pair of Nike Shox Turbo ($99.99). Both are well worth it, and the 991s last a VERY long time.

Here's a tip, Nike will pretty much replace any pair of Shox if they wear out within a year. All you'll have to pay is shipping.

The most we've spent is $14 for a pair....we bought a pair of My Little Pony and a pair of Tinkerbell sneakers on Saturday for $12 and $14, respectively....bought them both from Target.

I just spent 74.99 for Air Force One's yesterday for DD age 13.

$10 here too maybe $15 if I cant get a better deal. Just not going to waste my money on something that will wear out or be grown out of in 6 months.

I just yesterday bought my 14 y.o. a pair of Nike Air Force Ones for $79.99 (or $83.59 with tax.) I thought I got off pretty easy considering some of the other priced sneaks!

For myself, I rarely pay over $50 for sneakers, I try to get them on sale.

dd is 7 and this is the first time I spent over $20 on sneakers.

I was buying my daughter's (2) sneakers at Babies R Us, Payless, etc. until she started telling me her feet hurt her. I took her to Stride Rite and they measured her feet and determined she had a wide foot and her shoes were pinching her feet so I ended up buying 2 pairs of wide shoes at Stride Rite for $75.00.

My DS had sensitive feet when he was younger, so I kept him in Stride Rites until he was about 8 or so. He seemed to outgrown the problem.

I typically spend $20 or less, maybe $30. Yep I'm cheap!

I really shop around until I find clearance shoes at Kohl's or Marshall's. I always find Sketchers, Nikes, or New Balance for my DD's for about $14-$25 a pair. Won't pay more 'because I know I'll find some if I'm patient! I also get them Keds or K-Swiss to wear with nicer outfits and I keep looking until I find the clearance! I do the same for myself, but I'm about to have to break down and get some just on sale!

I kept it under $10 - $15 until recently. They are getting close to adult sizes now so I need to spend more. They also tend to wear them longer now too, so I don't feel so bad. We shopped yesterday and couldn't find anything for less than $25 - so we didn't buy yet. I may have to give in and spend more, but we've got a few more stores to try.

We've never had any problem with comfort -I have boys and most shoes have some support built in. I wonder about some of the little girls shoes I see though!

I usually spend $10-15 per pair for my kids. I buy at Target and Payless and sometimes an occasional outlet of some sort. I refuse to buy these big name sport's shoes! Kids outgrow their shoes too quickly.

Just went to the New Balance outlet store in Brighton MA for new sneakers. $45, $40 and $30 for DH,DS and me. All mens sizes 9.5 4E, 8 4E and 7.5 4E. These are the only sneakers we can wear. Even at the outlet store we have a hard time finding styles that fit our feet.

DD (3) wears New Balance or Payless extrawide.

Our feet look like triangles, narrow heels, wide across the toes.

Well, I can't really call them tennis shoes any more. My son is over 6' tall and wears a size 12 or 13, depending upon the fit. I have spent between $50 and $75 for his clod hoppers. He is so big, I feel he needs alot of support in his shoes. That really may not be much for shoes that size, but he gets several pairs a year. I have to actually budget to get his shoes as he needs dress shoes for speech and debate, sports shoes for PE, and walking shoes for school. He also has steel toed boots to work with his 4H steers, rubber boots for cleaning the stalls, and snow boots for winter (those can run well over $100). Kids ain't cheap. There is more than 1 reason to hate to see them grow up! ::yes::

I need to get a new pair of New Balance shoes for WDW. I'll have to take a look at the 991's! Thanks for the tips!!

I would love to see what a $100 pair of kids sneakers look like. I buy mine at Walmart or Target, wherever they can find their favorite character. DS4 got light up MonsterTruck sneakers at Walmart for $13.47, and DS6 got Spiderman ones at Target for $14.97. unless there is a medical need, I can't see spending a lot on a pair of shoes for kids. They are either too rough on them, or they outgrow them quickly..

I usually do not spend over $35 or so.... my DD is 10 so she does not need expensive shoes! She will grow out of them in 6 months anyway!!

I guess usually around $35-$40 or so. My two boys (5 and 3) really aren't too choosy.

But they don't like high tops and I don't like all black or gaudy colored shoes. For some reason it took a long time to find some this year that we were all happy with.

$20-$35. We saw the $100 shoes the last time we shopped.
DS tried them on for fun and they were not comfortable to him-
too narrow. TG

Well.... I usually won't pay more than $20. And we have bought many different types from different places. About two weeks ago DH read about a sale at the Reebok outlet if you use your Shaw's Reward card (orwhatever they call it). We hit the outlet on our way to the lake for vacation. DH got really nice looking sneaks for him for $18 and I got one pair for DD and two pairs for DS for under $20 each (DS's were about $16). I was very pleased with that. But I wouldn't have bought them for over $20, no matter what the name brand. My kids and I have worn Payless and Walmart shoes for years with no problems...... P
