I just finished an 800 page book. I started reading it in WDW in early October.

I enjoyed it but realized that since I have been married, and since I have had children, my reading time has just about diminished to nothing.

And reading isn't as much fun anymore. I don't have time to sit and read for 3 hours at a stretch. Sometimes I skip 3 -4 days before picking a book back up.

I sure miss it.

reading is my favorite hobby. I read atleast an hour every night. I also try to read when DS is resting (he doesn't nap anymore :( )
I just don't watch tv, or do many crafty things....so all of my hobby time goes to reading or the computer.

I read posts on the DIS, that is about the extent of my reading.

I read alot. I just finished three books since the girls went to bed at 8pm (I do all my reading after they are in bed LOL). They were at least 300 pages each. I like to read, no make that love to read. I collect books, it's a weakness. DH has finally convinced me to start selling some of them on ebay (I am not joking when I say I have thousands) and I tell you it feels like I amputated my arm! On a side note the books I sold went for a huge profit. I was shocked since I paid 7.99 at Borders for one of them and it sold for 43.52!

Well, I read LOADS due to graduate school =) Most of it truly is enjoyable reading, but hard.

To unwind at night, I read a novel - usually something mindless and frilly, so I don't have to think much. My one talent is reading quickly, so I can easily finish a novel in bed each night.

I wish I had more time to read for fun, instead of study, though.

I probably go through four books a week - reading is my vice. Part of it is that I don't drive in New York City - I take the subway - so I can read to/from work.

I am trying to read 1 book a week. It is hard with everything else going on. I also have a hard time putting a book down once I start. The biggest reason I don't start a new book because I can't read it all at once.

I have 5 books here waiting to be read. Need to get started-tomorrow. ;)

How much do you read?

A lot! But not big ole books and such.

I read news and studies on all sorts of things relating to computers and the medical field :D

Also included in my selection of reading are books assigned by my professors.

Just got done reading The Elements of Moral Philosophy. Not a huge book, but very interesting

I enjoy reading and try to read as much as possible. I find myself reading more in the summer, not sure why. And my family hates it when I start a new book, because I never want to put it down. Everything else can wait until my book is finished. I'll sit up half the night reading, or find some quiet place in the house and just hole up until I finish the book. Of course, it's a lot easier to do that now that the kids are older.:)

I read about a book a week. I have always been an avid reader but like you, when my kids came along, I actually stopped reading for YEARS!!!! :(

My kids are now 13 and 9 and don't require ALL my attention now. I usually get in about 45 minutes of reading each evening before bedtime and then, if I've got a particularly good book, I might sit for 3 hours at a stretch and read. Of course, everything goes to hell when I do that, but I so enjoy it.

Papa Deuce, one day, you too, will read again!

ive been off work 5 weeks aprox and read 4 steven king books from the dark tower series.

I also used to read lots. I have recently started back into trying to read every evening for a short while. Problem is I end up falling asleep! I do keep a book in the car for when I have to wait. That seems to be the most consistent reading place I have.

Christine-Sounds pretty much like me!

remyandhollandsmommy - We have turned one of the kids bedroom's into a "library". I, too, need to move them along. We have a library sale near us in the summer-think this year I'll be a big donor! Probably the bedroom floor will sigh in relief!

Did you know the term "Cup of Joe" originated from the Navy? It was termed from Josephus Daniels' banning alcohol from the Navy ships and telling the crews to drink coffee instead.

I love to read. Some days are better than others for reading. Like for the past Months things have been way to crazy to even think about reading. But I have some waiting for me when I can find the time. Reading is like a get - a- way for me.

I usually read at least 3 books a week. I've always LOVED to read ever since I was a little girl. Now if I could just get a job reading--I'd be in 7th heaven. If I don't have 2 or 3 books waiting for me--I start getting antsy and have to go to the library ASAP.

I didn't slow down when dd was little. I'd read when she was playing and at night before I went to bed. I think it's good for kids to see their parents reading for fun--DD is 14 and reads just as much as I do. My parents are huge readers and so were my grandparents. I just remember my family giving us books all the time as children.

Another thing I do with DD is to give her books as rewards for good grades. For every A, she gets to pick out one book. I want to reward her for good grades but I don't want to give her money or toys. Reading encourages her to keep on learning.

Sorry for the long post, PopDaddy!
;)

I read a lot too. But I Dis alot too :) I LOVE to read. It is one of my most favorite hobbies.
I last read My Sister's Keeper and it was Excellent!

I read more during the summer months. DS(17) and I like to go sit by the pool, turn the waterfall on and read! DH likes to go out there too, but he usually naps with his book on his chest LOL
That to me is the perfect afternoon:)
