How much do you pay for trash pickup?

I live in a town but the town does not provide trash pick up with my taxes (insert angry fist here). I pay $35 a month for twice a week pick up. I guess i should look around!

I feel lucky that we live in the city and we pay $0 of course it is included in our property tax bill so in a way we pay $1,182.41 year.

acck, we pay almost 3x that for our taxes here.

Don't get me started on taxes. I'm in nj enough said. We are rural so we don't have city anything- no water, garbage, sewer- nothing. Our tax dollars go 80% schools 10% state police rest- administative costs and snow removal.

City person. It's included in my taxes, along with snow removal, storm sewer maintainance, and leaf vacuuming. I have a small house, and my taxes are around $1600.

Here's the good part: we have DUMPSTERS! Our homes back to alleys, and there are large dumpsters set every 30 feet or so, some for yard waste and some for trash. They empty the dumpsters twice per week, and there is bi-weekly large item pickup, though it's seldom needed, as yard salers will take anything you put out. I can take out my trash any time I like, and it doesn't matter to the city how much of it I generate.

We use to pay $18 a month for once a week pick up but they didn't pick up our recycling so we were driving to the recycling center so I decided to cancel our service because we only had one bag of trash a week if I was going to drive to the recycling center I might as well take the one bag and pay $1.00 per bag and save that money. The funny thing is 3 weeks after I called they stopped by and dropped off a trash can and a recycling bin for us.

We pay 27.50 per quarter for once a week pickup which is plenty since we usually have two bags a week for a family of 4. We started recycling last year for free and it is amazing how much less goes into the garbage can.

Our city contracts a private company. We pay about $13.50 per month for weekly service. That includes weekly trash & recycling services. We are provided with the big cans for each. Also, they will pick up yard waste twice a year for no additional costs.

We play $54/3 months here. That includes the big wheeled can, but not recyclebles. I just take my own recylicling when I have enough.

When I lived in the city limits, trash pickup was included in our taxes, and our taxes were about $2000 a year then ($1000 county, $1000 city).

Our township contracts with a company, then we have to pay them. $70 three times a year for weekly trash pickup and recyclables. We use our own can, they provide a recycling bin. They will take larger appliances if you call ahead. I wish it was included in our taxes, then I could deduct them on my tax return. Paying for trash pickup was a surprise when I moved here, along with the volunteer fire department.
