Under 300 days and counting until my first trip home and my longest stay to date! (10 days) I hae ny new DVC cards, I have my confirmation, now I have to wait.

In the meantime I have been reading a bit about mousekeeping and what people prefer. I wouldn't mind doing a spot of cleaning in my "home" but I am a cleaning product freak. I love anything that comes in a convienent wipe! I was originally thinking about packing some supplies until I realized, duh, that Florida has stores like everywhere else and I could buy them there. OK, now I have that down. But what do you buy? I would probably get some Clorox wipes, bathroom wipes, and maybe some glass wipes. That shold take care of the major wipe categories. What about dusting? How much can accumulate in 10 days? Enough that I should have to dust? (I understand that this may vary depending on how much it bothers me and if I had allergies, etc.) My fear is that I will buy a whole slew of cleaning supplies and end up packing them up to go home or leaving them there. What happens if you leave them there, are they thrown out?

Oh yeah, what exactly is provided? I know you get a little dishwasher detergent and washer detergent, what about sponges?

PS - I LOVE the idea of having a left-over supply closet - I wish that would happen.

I don't clean-I wipe down the counters and the bathroom vanity, but that's it, unless we dirty the floor somehow, then I'll vaccuum.
So if I were to bring/buy anything it would just be Lysol or Clorox wipes.

If you're in a 1-bedroom or larger, bring washer detergent tablets and dryer sheets, and perhaps some extra paper towels for slurpy stuff.

Stayed at OKW 1/25 - 1/30 - there was a small box of Cascade, small bottle of palmolive, small box of Tide for laundry - 3 rolls of paper towels and new in the package sponge for the dishes.

The cascade box probably could do 4+ dishwasher loads, maybe more. We did 3 and there was still plenty left.

The palmolive will last pretty long too. I think it was about 5-6oz bottle.

The tide was just for 1 load of laundry.

When we had our Trash & towel, they left a new box of tide, and cascade and a new sponge.

Hope that helps. Feel free to PM me if you want more specifics.
Have fun!

I'm not a huge cleaner on vacation. I run some clorox through the jacuzzi tub, wipe down the counters in the kitchen and bathroom, and run the vaccume on the days that are between cleaning. I would think that if you like the wipes some lysol or clorox ones would be all you'd need to do the cleaning.

We never find it necesarry to dust on our 10 day trips. We might wipe down the bathroom and we certainly clean the kitchen after we use it, just like at home. Bear in mind that you will get one trash and towel service and one full cleaning during your stay. You will recieve the full cleaning on day 4 and will get trash and towel on day 8. We sometimes ask them to reverse those.
