how much do Disney hotel/cruise prices increase each year

We are looking into DVC, and my DH made a handy spreadsheet so we could really delve into long term numbers.

One thing I want to compare is how much we would most likely spend out of pocket on trips over the next 30-40 years. Anyone have an idea how much hotel/cruise prices increase each year so I can guestimate?

Hotel Rack Rates go up about 3-5% per year--sometimes more such as when they started charging premium rates for weekends a couple years ago.

But the more volatile part of the equation is discounting. During good times you may see discounts of 15-20% off of rack. When tourism gets slower (as in the last couple of years), 40-45% is not unheard of.

Trouble is trying to come up with any sort of average. Reality is there are years when DVC may cost you more than discounted rack rates and years when DVC saves a lot over Disney's best cash prices. Gotta look at the big picture.

Sorry, can't help you on the cruise prices but bear in mind that the point costs for cruises are subject to change at Disney's whim.
