How much did the cruise points go up from last year?

I was thinking when I speak to my guide tomorrow and we decide to purchase BCV I was considering purchasing 214 pts so we can do a 3nt cruise in Nov or Dec. Right now for cat 6 its 107 pts each. I was just told we may have to postpone our cruise trip until Jan 2003 due to son just signed up for the Navy and would be graduating bootcamp mid to late November. I was thinking about upping the points to cover the possible increase from 214 to 218.

Compared to last year how many points did they go up? I was wondering if we purchased 218 pts if this would be enough to the cover increase of points for a 3nt cruise in January 2003. I really don't want to borrow from next years points.

Well, they seem to have added an additional "season" which makes comparison trickier. In addition to Peak Season there is also Holiday Season.

For a January 3-night cruise, the points needed have gone up 1-3 points depending on category. The points for an additional passenger went down 1-2 points. Regular season went up 2-5 points. Peak Season went up 3-6 points.

Specific to Category 6 on the 3-night cruise for Nov. or January (with the exception of Jan. 3) it was an increase of 2 points from 105 to 107.

I didn't look closely at all the cruise options, but it looks like the increases on the 7-night cruise could be more significant going up more than 10 points.

I've been to the DVC site 4 times now, and my computer always seems to lock up when I'm there. That site is so hard to find anything on. Where is the point chart located, if it is there. Thanks......Johnnie

Thanks for your info. I have now decided to purchase instead of 214pts I will purchase 220 pts. This will hopefully cover any increases for 2003.

No, Johnnie. The 2003 point chart isn't out yet....I don't think they do come out until late in the year. Minybear is just trying to take a guess as to how many points it will be based on the difference from the 2001 to 2002 charts.
