This may be a touchy subject for some, because I know there are ladies out there who do not like sharing expenses, but that is ok with me. I understand. But I am curious as to what everyone served as their food and how much it cost? I know, it's kinda personal. Anyways, if you are willing to share, I'd like to know. Thanks. :)

We had the Journey buffet menu at the Living Seas... I think our food came out to like $85/person + tax and gratuity.... I'm not sure though... I"d have to go through my records and find out for sure... The food was AMAZING and there was so much of it!!! :goodvibes If you include the bar - we had beer, wine and soda, and the DP it came out to around $150/person (which included the gratuity and tax).

Hi there! I'm not exactly sure how much I'll be spending just yet. I've just sent in my contract so I havent had my planning session yet. However, I did some calculation on my own and I'll probably end up spending about $150-$160/ person. That will include pre-reception, dinner, dessert, cake, and drinks(I'm having an open bar with beer and wine only). I've included the tax in that figure too. The food is a huge expense for my event, however, many of my guests will be traveling and spending a lot of money to attend my wedding so the least I can do is offer them a nice meal with all the extras :)

My breakfast-foods brunch (a variation of Tinker Bell's) is $47 per adult, $23.50 per child. Three vendor meals (2 disney photographers, 1 videographer) are $13.95 each. The cake handling fee is $1.70pp. My cake is $8.50pp (simple 3-tier butter cream with swiss dots). My bar is bill-on-consumption. Based on drink prices my WP sent me, I'm estimating $20 per adult, $15 per child. (If the total bar charge is under $500, there's also a $100 bartender charge, but with about 100 guest, I'm sure we'll meet the minimum.) For the food (other than cake) and beverages, there's also a 20% service charge. And then there's 6.5% tax on everything. So... including everything my estimated adult charge is about $95pp, and my estimated child charge is about $60pp.

Wow. I remember when my BFF got married in 1998 (at a really nice country club on Cape Cod), it was about $50 per person. I can't believe how much prices have gone up. I wonder how much it would cost for her at the same location nowadays.

I got a semi-private room at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney and for 20 people it came in just under $500. That includes alcohol and appetizers! The was great as always!
Dinner was a steal!!!

For the call brands open Bar, Pre-reception, dinner, cake, and champagne, we spent about $160 per person including tax and gratuity.

wow that seems like so much money to spend on the food for the reception, are their ways to keep the costs down?

Cut costs by having an early reception, the minimums are a 75 dollars at all the other resorts except for the Grand Floridian which is 100.

True, but also keep in mind that those minimums are before the taxes and service charges. So you're looking at about $85-$90 per person, even if you manage to keep to the minimums. That's about as low as you can get for a custom wedding.

I know that I was just trying to give the girl the basic, sorry I forgot to add that.

Is it even possible to do 125$ per person?? I have to have a night reception since some people will be flying in the day of my wedding. I wanted it to start around 5 or 6 ish. Seems like their food cost percentage and mark up prices are waaaay high.
