How much Diamond Merchandise/Special Things Before the 22?

My mother is turning 60 this year (yes, she's the same age as Disneyland!) and as is tradition for all her major birthdays we are spending it in Disneyland with her.

However her birthday is May 13 and our trip is the 10-14 so we will *just* miss the official kick off of the Birthday Celebration How much cool stuff do you think there will be to celebrate it being the 60th anniversary already?

Honestly, I wouldn't expect very much of the 60th merchandise to be available before May 22nd. There is a big merchandise event a few days before the 22nd, so I doubt they'd release items to the general public before that event concludes. You might find a few things, but I would not expect much at that point in May. I thought I had read that some of the food items (not sure which) might be available before May 22, but now I can't find that post.

This isn't 60th Anniversary-related, but they just announced the other day on the Disney Parks Blog that there will be a special Mother's Day cupcake available only on the 10th, so you could get that as a special treat.

Some of the merchandise might show up on the DisneyStore.com's Theme Park Authentic section on or after May 22nd.

There's been a diamond pin series releasing every month since January. In addition to the park section of the Disney store website, you can also try calling merchandise services. I agree with PP. They're charging people $100 for the merchandise event, it's not likely they'll put a lot of items that can be purchased freely before then.

I was mostly hoping for something like a shirt to get her. And I can get them online later, but the whole idea was to have a gift to give her while we were there.
