How much DCL gear do you still have?

After I have had some downer posts of late, state of the world, I thought of a fun one. The last week or so I finally started wearing my inaugural Hawaii cruise zipped hoodie. Got me to thinking about the DCL gear I still have.

I have 6 DCL zipped hoodies, 1 standard hoodie, 2 full sets of inaugural Hawaii pins, Ducky Williams sketch from a presentation, some hats and Castaway shirt that is so tattered it is only used at night now. We also have some glasses and some other small items. Some of the hats were prizes from chip it golf:).

How about everyone else?

Castaway Club gifts - 2 different back packs, 4 red bags, 5 or 6 beach bags, 2 game sets, photo book, 3 CC level magnets for fridge, small suitcase styled box, 3 thermal cups, 6 water bottles, art cards, lanyards (too many to count), luggage tags.

As well as 2 windbreakers (won at games), several picture frames, Ducky Williams picture, Stacia Martin picture.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more.

EDITED TO ADD: Med cruise t-shirt, well one from DCL as well as 2 others from port stops on that same cruise, Panama Canal cruise pins, KTTW cards, various menus, postcards, pens, stationary, couple of lithographs.

And, 5 drink of the day glasses.

And, of course, I have these:

I had a Castaway Cay Tee shirt, but I haven't seen it in years. Probably at the bottom of my Tee Shirt drawers. As I have gotten older I am not big on buying souvenirs or taking pictures or shooting video. It's all about enjoying the trip. Okay, cell phone cameras DO make it easier to just snap a photo once in a while.

Not sure what it was, but I do have a nice zippered hoodie collection and pretty much live in them. Thankfully my work is pretty casual and they don't judge base on how dress. We also have a crazy HVAC system so it is nice to have something that can either be put on or taken off easily depending on the temperature fluctuations.

Not sure if it is the getting older part or that RCCL and Celebrity don't have the cool factor of DCL gear, I have only a shirt and hat from them and the shirt was super cheap on sale. Pictures I do a lot of, but that happens to be a hobby back home so it gets extended on the trip:)

Well, I'm currently wearing the t-shirt I bought on our 2017 SWDAS cruise ;) And I'm wrapped in the blanket I bought on our 2019 Alaska cruise 😂 I also own a couple of hoodies and some more tshirts. My kids have shirts (probably outgrown now 😭), my hubby has at least two jackets or hoodies, plus baseball caps. We have mugs...tons of back packs (castaway club gift) plus at least one beach tote and one cooler bag....I'm sure there is more!

Shirts from every cruise that I bought and wear and a few DCL ornaments from different cruises, including our first ship ornament. What I can't figure out what to do with is the freebie stuff we get like the sling backpacks and a drawer full of lithographs. I can't bare to toss out DCL stuff, but I don't use it either. Not to mention the box full of navigators!! I do love the free luggage tag we got once. That is attached to a suitcase and ready to travel.

Ok as I walk around I'm realizing there is more DCL stuff then I realized. A photo frame, two framed photo pass photos, a tooth pick holder.... Does this stuff replicate overnight?

Never thought I would use the one-strap backpack thing (what's it called?), but I took it to WDW on our last trip and loved it. So much easier to pull on and off than a backpack, and so much more comfortable than trying to wear a backpack on one shoulder.

The special lithograph we had, Hawaii cruise signed byDucky, is framed. The 2 we got for sailing concierge while nice are stored away somewhere still in the sleeve we got them in.

I'm wearing the 2018 Alaska long sleeve knit t-shirt right now. Still have a closet shelf full from DVC Members Cruise May 2019 (that took 2 duffle bags that they gave us plus an extra-large tote bag to get all the stuff home) and 2 roll-on suitcases with all our summer DCL t-shirts, caps, tumblers, champagne glasses (Jan 2020), pirate clothes, and what else, ready to go. Just get us on a cruise and hand me a menu!

My wife and I have lots of t shirts, sweat shirts, cruise line exclusive jewelry, cruise line ID lanyards, rubber luggage tags, sling bags, beach bags, beach towels, all the DVC cruise stuff we collected over the years, beer mugs, all of the Navigators and paperwork from 12 seven day cruises, drink of the day cups, pixi dust gifts from other cruise passengers, all of our room keys and the rubber Cast Away Cay 5K medals.
I also one of these.

How did you fit that in your suitcase? :rolleyes1 :P

But seriously curious how you came to be the owner of that treasure?

I know there is a seller on Ebay who somehow has access to items Disney removes whenever they do a refurbishment of their property's. It is amazing what he has.
He is located in central Florida somewhere. I have heard of people visiting him while they are here on vacation to pick things up.

With that said I got mine at Property Control. If you have not heard of this it is where Disney sells all kind of items from new to used, certain damaged items, lost and found, items that have last years date on them and over stock items. It is only open to current and retired cast members and their guests.
A friend of mine is a retired cast member. We were at Property Control about this time last year.
They had several of them that were in good condition but had broken legs. I found one with no rips on the side or scratches on the top.
The legs were there but not connected.
I bought the best one I could find and re attached the legs after repairing the area they were attached to.

I have a merry time t-shirt, a short sleeved black rash guard, some pins, a ship ornament, a castaway cay dress, a pandora ship charm, a dooney from the inaugural cruises, the cruise tsumtsums and the magnets/post cards they send. My husband has a pair of boxers and a nice polo shirt with a small logo (from before they started doing the athletic fabric which he hates). We also have some included lithographs, and the CC club bags that they have cycled through since 2011.

It is interesting when we were on the Celebrity Edge I saw at least a couple of gold castaway bags:) When on RCCL the entertainment host gave me a light hearted hard time for wearing my DCL hoodie;)

Outside of normal items, we have a pair of menus from Parrot Cay before Wonder was reimagined and it became Tiana's. Also have a pre-reimagining deck plan signed by Captain Guss that I framed.

Bought the wife a stateroom throw blanket and WYWUAS pillow from that same buyer on eBay. Almost bought the coffee table too.

More DCL clothing, beach towels, artwork, mugs, knick knacks, ornaments, return cruiser gifts, pins, toys, figurines, etc. than I can count!!!

I find it very hard to part with anything that has a DCL logo on it. I have one of the original DCL T-shirts I bought at the DCL Preview Center in the Magic Kingdom before the cruise ever set sail. Here is a pic of our kids in 1997. We surprised them with the Magic MV for Christmas in 1997 (MV was July 30, 1998). All they had were XL sizes. They eventually grew into them LOL

And....happy 10th Anniversary to the Disney Dream today!!! Her MV was January 26, 2011 and I saved our champagne glass from the event

I vaguely remember reading in one of your posts a while back that the towels were a castaway gift at one point? It looked really cool too. We pretty much have all our gear still too. One shirt I was torn on getting rid of will end up in a quilt someday since it is no longer worn.

We only took one DCL trip in the before times, to Alaska. This year we put our DCL Alaska ornament on our Christmas tree, I have a travel mug that somehow still smells like mulled wine spices, and my kids still have DCL and Friendship Rocks t-shirts and a DCL Alaska zip hoodie. But that's all we got as we had limited luggage space. I was hoping to get the special Halloween in room package for our October 2021 cruise, but it's sadly not to be.

The blue sling bag?
