I feel like I read something last year that posted how much a DVC Member Cruise cost if you didn't want to use points. I have tried every search imaginable and I can't find anything.

Can anyone post how much they have paid in the past, for how many people, and what room category?

We are interested in the 2011 cruise, but I am curious about how much it will be roughly since I know they are priced higher than the other cruises around that time. Are tips included in the price?

Thank you!

Go to the Disney Cruise Line site (Google and it will come up) and you can price out any cruise you want. Prices will vary by which cruise, how long, how many people, how close it is to the sailing, etc.

The OP is not asking how much a Disney Cruise is, she's asking how much a DVC members cruise is. We are booked on the members cruise for this year, and I believe we paid $2250 total, for a cabin with a navigator's verandah, for 2 people. The prices do include tips. I'm not sure what the other categories cost, maybe someone else does. The members cruises are more expensive than a "regular" cruise, but you get a bunch of gifts and with the tips included and 2 visits to Castaway Cay, we felt it was worth it.

Thank you! Also, how much was the deposit? When is the final payment due by?

Oops - sorry sometimes my reading is not up to snuff!

Not to butt in but I saw this and it peaked my interest! I have always sworn I would never and I mean never take a cruise. However my kids watched one of the episodes on the TCC about the Disney Cruise Line. We have only had our membership for a little over a year so I am still learning what all is out there that we can do.
So my question ( if this is the right place ) is would this be a good cruise to try out for someone like me who has been anti cruise. I am very claustrophobic and can get bad motion sickness. Those are about the only two reasons I have decided I would not like it!! I looked at the schedule for the 2010 ( interested in the 11 ) and it looks like I would have ample time off the ship. I know my girls would love, love, love it so I am trying to gear myself up for it!
If I were to try this I am assuming kids are welcome on the members cruise first of all. Next for my reasons of fear in cruising what type room would be best. I have heard good and bad about the different levels or floors so I am also lost as to how to choose that! Any help would be great!!!

Thank you my DVC friends!

Amanda

People react very differently to cruises, and it's difficult to predict seasickness. We took our first cruise in 2007 (DCL) as a total luxury for our 10th anniversary, and I was honestly surprised at how much I ended up loving it. We've always booked verandah staterooms, and I always felt like we had plenty of room to stretch out and never once did I have any issue with the confines of our stateroom. We are actually going to really test that theory in September when we cruise in an inside stateroom...I may be signing a different tune then - LOL. There are pills and patches and non-medicinal remedies for seasickness that people take and report success with, but, like I said, you really can't predict how the ship's movement is going to affect you. I would recommend trying out a shorter cruise just to see how you do (try to get a stateroom as high on the ship as possible, with some type of oceanview). I used to always say that first time cruisers should get a verandah stateroom, but, if your family is anything like mine, the verandah will sit unoccupied for the length of the cruise, making it an incredible waste of money. I can't say enough about how awesome the Disney cruise experience is. If you are going to do it, might as well do it Disney-style. The DIS has a great cruise board too which will have a lot more information for you. :thumbsup2
