how much can you do if you arrive at the park around 11am

i don't want to drive from LA as i have heard that the traffic can be horrendous in the morning.
So we are thinking of getting a coach which picks up from LA at 9:30am - after rush hour has calmed down.
If we arrive at the parks around 11am - how much can we do, if we stay until arrive 8pm?

We are not expecting to do/see everything - just the main stuff - pirates, space, haunted mansion, etc.

We plan on going on a monday.

Monday trafffic should lighter in comparison because of the holiday, which doesn't help you at DL as far as the crowds. If you do contiue to use alternate transportation and arrive at the park at 11am you should be able to experience the main attactions and depart around 8PM. I am an AP holder and I have just gone to experience the main attrations and leave. Have fun!

A lot of people don't make it until 11am. I generally consider them poor planners but you really don't have a choice. But if you want to see the biggest and best and all you have is that Monday. Use FPs and make a good go of it.

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Oh you'll get enough done arrive at 11 am even if you just wanted to do the main stuff, just utilize the fast pass's! And here is a fun tip, if you plan on eating lunch don't do it till after the lunch time crowd so maybe don't eat till 1pm or 2pm, that way the wait time to get your meal is not so extreme! Well to be 100% honest, we rarely get there before 10-11 am. And we haven't had any problems getting what we wanted to do done.

You should be ok in mid may.... Crowds won't be too bad...

As long as you are not going in the last week of May, you will get everything you want done and you won't even need to worry about Fastpasses much at all. Disneyland is empty in May. Even Space Mountain will rarely reach 25 minutes on a Monday in May.

That being said, traffic will not be bad at all as long as you take the following, all-carpool lane route:

110S -> 91E -> 5S.

Even in the morning, it will take 45 minutes max because you have carpool lanes the entire way.

really? see i don't know what to do now. i keep getting different stories. some people say it can take up to two - three hours to get there if i left at 8am in the morning.

what to do?

if i were to drive and disney opens at 9am - what time do you recommend we leave LA? It would be may 23rd.

If it were me I would leave about 745... You will be going against the flow for the most and you can use the carpool lane...

You will then have plenty of time to park, catch the shuttle and be at the gate well before 9am, they should open the turnstyles about 830 and you can enter main street only...

Even if traffic is bad you will have time up your sleeve and should still be there for park opening...
