Well, the county just announced they are making sandbags available this weekend due to 5 days of rain coming. But we had major flooding in 1986 and part of my street flooding but that is six houses away and a low spot.

We're fine. We don't get storms very often. No rivers, no snow.

I'm about 700 miles from home so it's gonna have to take care of itself.

I live up on a hill and my house isn't in any kind of slide area. However, I've been there where I decided to delay going to work because the road looked like a waterfall.

My parents live nearby and they're prepared with sandbags because their driveway goes down from the street and water will collect in their front yard and possibly their garage.

I remember when we got insurance for our new home - the adjuster laughed and said we don't need flood insurance, since if the nearby river and lake flooded all the way up to our house on a steep hill, there's be no one around to collect from

Not much of a risk, unless it is a Cat 5 Hurricane, but that would be very unusual in Northern Indiana. Lake Michigan is not known for Hurricanes.
